Since day one, our ambition has been to create more opportunities for women to access the highest level of offshore racing and compete on the world's most demanding race boats.

The arrival of the Ocean Fifty class on such an iconic event represents an exciting opportunity. Despite the incredible talent of many female sailors over the years, no woman has ever won this legendary race.
We hope this new chapter will inspire and enable more women to step onto the start line—and ultimately become the first female winner in the event's history.

La Solitaire du Figaro ouvrira un nouveau chapitre de son histoire en 2028.

Référence de la course au large française depuis plus de cinquante ans, La Solitaire du Figaro ouvrira, à compter de l'édition 2028, un nouveau chapitre de son histoire avec la Classe Ocean Fifty.

Décidée conjointement par le Groupe Figaro, propriétaire de l’épreuve, et OC Sport Pen Duick, son organisateur, cette évolution s’inscrit dans une stratégie portée jusqu’en 2036 pour donner à La Solitaire du Figaro les moyens de poursuivre son histoire, tout en préservant les fondamentaux qui ont forgé son identité depuis sa création.

Depuis plus de cinquante ans, le monde de la course au large s'est profondément transformé. Les attentes du public, des partenaires, des médias, des collectivités et des territoires ont évolué. La Solitaire du Figaro doit donc continuer à s'adapter pour répondre à ces nouvelles attentes.

Face à ces évolutions, le Groupe Figaro et OC Sport Pen Duick ont engagé, depuis plusieurs mois, une réflexion profonde sur l'avenir de La Solitaire du Figaro afin d'identifier le format le plus adapté aux ambitions de l'épreuve.

Par son potentiel sportif, médiatique et événementiel, la Classe Ocean Fifty est apparue comme le support le plus adapté pour accompagner le prochain chapitre de la Course.

Préserver La Solitaire du Figaro, c'est aussi lui donner les moyens de continuer à évoluer afin qu'elle demeure, pour les prochaines décennies, l'une des grandes références de la course au large française.
