Helsinki Heatseekers Australian Rules Football team in Helsinki. Est. 2007. DM us for training info! All welcome! Come and try the greatest sport on earth!!

Trainings will introduce the sport, the skills, the rules and the fitness required to play ‘Aussie Rules’. The Helsinki Heatseekers look forward to smashing our opponents from the Turku Dockers, the Waasa Wombats. Where: Right next to Oodi Library at Töölönlahden tapahtumapuisto

Al’s toughest choice of the year so far with the whole team playing unbelievably over the weekend! Kane proved pivotal in the game, kicking 5 in 3 quarters. Santos in his 2nd game and 1st in the ruck showed great composure in the midfield and was rewarded with 4 goals of his own and Andrii fed his teammates all day in the midfield!

Al’s Votes are in for our 45 point win over Turku in Round 1 of the FAFL! Ilmari gets 3 for his impact on the scoreboard and constant pressure running both ways! Ryan was a pillar off halfback allowing us to bypass the mid and turn defence straight into attack getting him 2 and Santos with his impressive sidestepping and powerful boot gets him the 1. Special mentions to Cyril and Jed with their impact in the mid and Hamish, Troy and Tim for their voice all day. 3 weeks to go until round 2 and boy are we excited!

4 first time goal scorers from our opening round of the 2026 season! Including 2 from debutant Santos! Cyril took half a second off tagging his oppo to snag himself one and Ilmari got rewarded for his elite forward pressure and hard running, vice skipper Niko joined in the fun with an immaculate scrumming soccer over the full backs head! Immensely proud of everyone and we know it’s just the first of many more to come!
