The 470 Class joins the International 420 Class Association in mourning the loss of Bunny Warren.

Bunny dedicated his life to inspiring and developing generations of sailors, leaving a lasting mark on our sport and our community. His passion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire 420 community.

Fair winds, Bunny. Rest in peace 🕊️

RIP Bunny Warren.

The International 420 Class Association is deeply saddened by the passing of Bunny Warren.

A true pillar of the International 420 Class, Bunny was one of our longest-serving and most respected coaches. Over many years, he dedicated himself to developing young sailors, shaping not only their performance on the water but also their character beyond it. His impact on the 420 community spans generations and will not be forgotten.

Bunny’s passion, knowledge, and commitment to the sport helped guide countless sailors toward success, and his presence will be deeply missed across the entire yachting fraternity.

Thank you, Bunny, for everything you gave to our Class.

Fair winds and rest in peace. 🕊️

Intensive days lately for the Norway team 🇳🇴🔥

The 470 crew Julia Jacobsen and Victor Lööf have been working hard on and off the water, with a little bit of celebrating too, as their fellow Norwegian 49erFX team became World Champions 🏆👏

“We’ve used May to focus on our final exams while also putting in a lot of work in the gym and on the bike to prepare for this summer’s highlights 🔥 We’ve really missed being in the boat and can’t wait to get back on the water at the beginning of June for our training camp in Santander ⛵🇪🇸”

See you back on the racecourse soon!

Lampis Giannoulis and Eleni Giannouli are fully focused on the next step of the season 💪

“At the moment, we are training in Santander for two training blocks with most of the fleet. We have a list of things we saw at the previous events that need to be improved, and we keep pushing till our next big event, which is the Junior Worlds in Gdynia 🇵🇱”

The Greek duo already proved they belong at the junior top 👏
🥉 3rd place U21 + 8th overall at the 2023 Junior Europeans in Gdynia

Theresa and Christopher have definitely eaten a lot of carbonara over the last few weeks 🍝😄

So here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how the German 50 470 team has been spending the past month! 🚀

After the Hyères Regatta, they headed to Kiel to prepare the containers for their upcoming trips to LA and Japan for the Long Beach Regatta and, of course, the World Championships.
At the same time, a brand new boat was prepared as well ⛵️

Since then, the German squad has been training in Ostia alongside their Italian friends until the end of May 🇩🇪🇮🇹

In June, the whole team will be back in Kiel for another training block before racing at Kiel Week!

And then it’s finally time for the big trip: first LA, then Japan ✈️🌎

- 🎙️ A lot of hard work behind us and some super exciting weeks ahead 🥳 said the crew

Behind the scenes with Japan 22 🇯🇵

Ahead of the 470 Worlds in Japan, many teams chose Santander as their training venue, among team Tetsuya Isozaki & Yurkie Seki.

The Japanese duo knows the Enoshima venue inside out after growing up sailing there, so this summer they joined the international 470 fleet in Santander to prepare for the world championship.

“We’re training in Santander, Spain 🇪🇸 Excited to train with top international sailors and take our sailing to the next level! ⛵️💪🔥” — commented the team.

Today we’re catching up with Australia’s 🇦🇺 Sophie Jackson and Austin Cross ahead of a big weekend in Enoshima! 💪🏼

“We have been training in Sydney with the Australian Sailing Futures Team and are now in Japan preparing for Enoshima Week. It’s a great opportunity to get some practice at the Worlds venue, where 120+ 470 crews will be racing this weekend!” said Sophie Jackson 🎙️

Alongside Sophie and Austin, we’ll also see teams from across Asia on the start line:

🇲🇾 Malaysia: Muhammad Hamka Naufal Mohd Hasrizan & Siti Nayli Syahira Mohd Sharulnizan
🇹🇭 Thailand: Navee Thamsoontorn & Nichapa Waiwai
🇰🇷 Korea: Sunho Kim & Arin Song

The first race is scheduled for Friday the 22nd, with three exciting days of racing ahead for the 470 fleet.

Good luck to all teams! ⛵🔥

After the last French Olympic Week in France, the 470 fleet split around the world to train hard and prepare for the next big goals. Now it’s time for some 470 sailors updates! 🌍⛵

Let’s take a look at how Emma Maltese and Marcello Miliardi spent the last few weeks after the latest World Cup event.

For Italy 22, May started in the best possible way with a victory at the Livorno International Sailing Week! 🏆

Second place went to Livia Ciampinelli and Nicola Brunotti, while Giada Amoroso and Mattia Tognocchi completed the podium in third.

Right now, Emma and Marcello are fully focused on training alongside the other Italian crews, pushing as hard as possible ahead of the upcoming Junior Championships in July.

First stop: the World Championship in Gdynia, Poland 🇵🇱 (11–17 July), followed immediately by the European Championship in Nida, Lithuania 🇱🇹 (20–27 July).

Here’s a small wrap-up of the past weeks from Emma and Marcello, swipe right! 👉
