THE CANYON – DAHAB
The Canyon is one of Dahab’s most iconic and unforgettable dive sites—a spectacular experience for divers who love dramatic underwater landscapes and cavern-style exploration.
The adventure begins with an easy shore entry through a shallow, sandy lagoon. A beautiful coral garden then leads towards the Canyon, located approximately five minutes northeast of the lagoon’s exit.
The main entrance lies at around 20 metres. Rising up to 10 metres high and almost completely closed at the top, the Canyon winds its way through the reef before opening into an impressive coral dome filled with shimmering glassfish. As sunlight filters through the openings above, it creates breathtaking beams of light and a truly magical atmosphere.
During the dive, you may encounter butterflyfish, unicornfish, pufferfish, octopuses, Red Sea anthias and many other colourful marine species.
An extraordinary combination of coral gardens, marine life and dramatic underwater scenery makes the Canyon an essential Dahab diving experience.
This dive is recommended for Advanced Open Water divers and is conducted according to each diver’s certification, experience and the conditions on the day.
