🌍 The Worldloppet family has come together in Szklarska Poręba, Poland! 🇵🇱

At the Annual General Meeting 2026, all 19 Worldloppet member nations are represented — hosted in the home region of Bieg Piastów, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

After a great winter season with all Worldloppet races taking place and positive numbers from our member events, the atmosphere is full of energy and optimism.

Main topics of the meeting include:
✅ confirming the calendar for the upcoming season
✅ preparing for Worldloppet’s 50th anniversary year in 2028
✅ developing new race formats and opportunities
✅ strengthening the cooperation with our presenting partner Haglöfs
✅ promoting summer events organized by Worldloppet race organizers

Worldloppet President Ben Popp summed it up perfectly:
“Together, we are making important decisions to strengthen the future of cross-country skiing worldwide.”

🚴‍♂️ The Tartu Maratoni Klassik family is celebrating a special summer anniversary!

This year, Tartu Rattaralli turns 45. The legendary road cycling event was first held on 23 May 1982 and has grown into the largest road cycling event in the Baltics.

🇪🇪 Its story began with a 46.7 km route and 362 finishers. At the time, the organisers chose a shorter distance because Estonia had no real experience with long-distance cycling events yet — but the riders quickly showed that they were ready for more. After crossing the finish line, many simply turned around and cycled all the way back to Tartu!

From the very beginning, Tartu Rattaralli was closely connected to the Tartu Ski Marathon. Many of the first organisers and volunteers came from the ski marathon team, and the cycling event was even described as the ski marathon’s “summer warm-up”.

Today, Tartu Rattaralli welcomes cyclists of all ages and from all over the world. Over the years, more than 163,000 participants have taken part, including around 66,000 children. Nearly 9,500 international riders have joined the event, and every year more than 30 nations are represented.

The 45th edition takes place on June 7, with three main distances — 135 km, 61 km and 27 km — plus a special old-school Vintage Race. The start and finish are in the centre of Tartu, while the courses lead through the beautiful rolling landscapes of South Estonia. Since 2022, the longest distance has also been part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series.

And of course, the Worldloppet spirit will be strongly present: around 110 Passport holders and 40 Worldloppet Masters are expected at the start line.
