🏆 TEHAS CUP 2026 | Stage 4 — RESULTS
For the second rope stage in a row, we welcomed two guest route setters from abroad. Thank you to Eelis Sallmen and David Criado, and of course our own Lauri Kuresoo and Ragnar Peets.
This Tehas Cup felt like a step up in several ways. The best proof of that was 12 y.o Mihkel Saage, who won the U13-U15 Boys category with 13 tops out of 14 and would have placed 5th among the adult men.
One of the unique things about Tehas Cup is that it is not only the top three who get awarded. We also track every participant’s personal progress, and the climber who makes the biggest improvement in points compared to the previous stage receives a progress award in each category. The progress across all age categories witnessed this time was clear proof that the Tartu climbing community is going from strength to strength.
The overall best performances belonged to Marat Tiisler (Adult Male) and 15 y.o Finnish prodigy Magnus Muro. Both flashed all 14 routes - a first in Tehas Cup history. Magnus made it even more impressive by doing it all in a single session.
In total, 5 climbers topped all 14 routes. In addition to Marat and Magnus, Rees, Oleg, and Fredi also sent the hardest route of the set: a technical route, two-thirds up on small crimps before switching into a sustained pinchy boulder section. With no rest, the route finished of with a crux “hero jump” from a bad sloper to a victorious top jug!
The Female category podium consisted of Miriam Ööbik, Kristin Juurmaa, and Liisi Roosik, who all reached up to 11 tops, with high zones and near-top efforts on the remaining climbs.
As usual, the youngest categories delivered some incredibly strong results, just to name a few:
🔹 Astra Maar (winner of U11-13 Girls): 13 tops, 1 zone.
🔹 Liise Lepperk (winner of U15-17 Girls): 12 tops and 2 zones.
And let’s not forget the best male “veteran”, Henry Patzig, who bagged 13 tops and 1 zone, once again proving that age is just a number.
Next up: Tehas Cup continues on June 14-21 at the boulder gym! Get ready for another thrilling 30 new problems to tackle!
See you in the gym! 👊
