Our two athletes, and .wigglesworth , came to Barcarès fully motivated and ready to put on a show and they delivered 💪

On day one, both riders made it to round 2, facing off in a Flysurfer vs Flysurfer heat. Luca came out on top, advancing to the quarterfinals. After a strong fight in the cold Tramontana, it just wasn’t our day, and his run ended there.

Now it’s back to work training hard for the next comps ahead. We’ll be pushing for that Flysurfer podium again 🔥

History! Behind the scenes of the day Hugo Wigglesworth became the first person to jump 40 meters on a kite.

On December 6th, 2025, at 4:40pm on Cape Town’s famous Kite Beach, 19-year-old Hugo Wigglesworth launched into the sky and became the first kitesurfer in history to clear the 40-meter mark — confirmed and verified by WOO.

The story started the night before. During a relaxed braai with the Flysurfer crew, the forecast called for big evening gusts on the next day. Someone asked if Hugo could break the world record. Most laughed it off. Hugo didn’t. He just smiled.

The next morning he trained for 2 hours — motivated after missing the 2025 King of the Air rider list — then headed home for avocado toast and Formula 1. As the wind spiked, he suddenly stood up and said: “Let’s break a WOO World Record today.”
�Chaos. Packing. Charging cameras. The whole team rushing to the beach.

At Kite Beach — ironically, the event site of the competition that didn’t invite him, Hugo rigged a new setup with shorter 17m lines. His first warm-up jump hit 28 meters. Then 30+. Then he sent one with twice the entry speed. The beach froze as he rocketed into the sky.

His mom whispered: “This is the highest I’ve ever seen Hugo go.”

Hugo landed, rode back in calm and silent, walked to the team, and simply said:
�“I just went 40 meters.”

By evening it was official: Hugo Wigglesworth — 40.00 meters. A new WOO World Record. The highest jump ever measured in kiteboarding.
He broke more than a record.�He broke a barrier no one thought would fall this soon.

Red Bull King of the Air Day 3 Recap.

And that’s a wrap for Red Bull King of the Air 2025.
After Luca rewrote the books of KOTA on Day 2 by launching the first foil kite ever used in this competition, he went into Day 3 with the same mission: shock the kitesurfing world once again. He started his heat on the SONIC, fully committed to pushing the limits.
Unfortunately, things didn’t align for us this time. Luca had an intense battle against , who took the win with an incredible performance.

But this event proved something bigger: foil kites are not only ready to shine on light-wind days — they’re ready for high-performance competition kiting as well.
These last days also showed us what it truly means to have a strong team: our athletes, caddies, the Flysurfer family, friends, supporters, and everyone who stood with us throughout this journey. This was only the beginning. We’ll be back — stronger than ever.

Massive congratulations to , the new King of the Air, and to and for completing the men’s podium.
Huge respect to for taking the win in the women’s division, sharing the podium with and — raising women’s kitesurfing to where it belongs.
