Parasailor Parasailor - The Spinnaker with a Wing for Safe and Easy Downwind Sailing.

12/06/2026

⛵️ We’re excited to share that Parasailor is once again a Corporate Member of the World Cruising Club for ARC 2026. 🤩

For us, this is more than an official title. It connects directly to the questions crews need to answer before a long passage begins. This is where our new series starts: Before the Miles. 💨 Over the coming weeks, we’ll look at the topics that matter before heading offshore: fewer engine hours, the wing principle, autopilot performance, handling, hoisting and snuffing, crew comfort — and why downwind sails can behave very differently at sea.

Because long passages begin before departure. And the right downwind sail is not a side decision.

Parasailor dealer ⛵️ Thomas Wibberenz knows what belongs on board.

Thomas has been sailing for more than 40 years. Today, he advises sailors buying the boat they have been working toward for years – often with investments in the six- or seven-figure range. What sets him apart: he thinks from the customer’s perspective. What works out there stays on board. What may cause problems later has no place on the boat.

His experience does not come from spec sheets, but from real situations at sea. For him, the Parasailor is not about speed. It is about something more important on longer passages: a calmer boat. Less motion, less stress, more control. And that often makes the difference. Because in the end, it is the crew that sails the boat. Some of them over many thousands of nautical miles.

Thank you, Thomas, for being part of the Parasailor family 🌊 and for advising customers with such a direct and honest approach. Read the full story here ➜ https://www.parasailor.com/en/news-stories-details/dealer-northern-germany

Our ⛵️ The Windelo 50.

Some shipyards make it easy to see where sailing is headed. Windelo is one of them: building eco-conscious offshore catamarans for people who are shaping their lives around bluewater cruising.

Spending long stretches under sail changes what life and work on board need to feel like. That is exactly what the Windelo 50 was built for: a fast, robust catamaran made to reach some of the most remote places on the planet — with an almost zero carbon footprint.

On long passages, the sail wardrobe is not just an add-on. It becomes part of the whole concept. It helps define how efficiently, comfortably and independently a boat can keep moving.

That is why Parasailor feels like such a natural fit for catamarans like the Windelo 50. Instead of simply pushing the boat, the hybrid wing creates constant lift and helps pull the catamaran forward — even in just 3 to 4 knots of wind. The boat can stay under sail longer, the engine can stay off more often, and the crew gets a more stable, controlled downwind experience on long passages. 🧡

Shipyard, crew or owner with an interesting Parasailor setup? We would love to take a closer look. 😊

Catamaran life begins downwind. ⛵️ With Parasailor.

Sailing used to be something you did for an afternoon. Today, life on board is a reality for more and more people. ☀️ Working from anywhere, staying in motion instead of settling down — that’s exactly why so many are choosing catamarans. More space, less movement, and something that actually feels like a home on the water.

At the same time, sailing itself is changing. Less about adventure, more about cruising. Long stretches along the coast, a daily routine on board that actually works — even when hours turn into days. And most of it happens downwind.

So what kind of sail fits that? Traditional downwind sails can get tricky on catamarans. The Parasailor works differently: it stabilizes itself and stays steady over long distances, even when conditions change. Want to understand why? Come see us at booth T12 at the International Multihull Show in La Grande-Motte (April 22–26) or check out the blog👆

Catamaran life begins downwind. ⛵️ With Parasailor. April 22–26 at the International Multihull Show in France.

We’re really looking forward to La Grande-Motte next week — the place to be if you’re into catamarans and trimarans. One of the largest selections of boats worldwide, right on and in the water.

Catamarans are where you really see what our self-stabilizing downwind sail can do. Our patented hybrid wing keeps the sail stable and generates lift. So it stays open and steady and reduces rolling of your vessel. Less rolling = happy crew :)

You’ll find us at booth T12, where we’ll walk you through it on our model. Save the Date 👆

Effortless downwind sailing in the Baltics ⛵️

Sailing along the coasts of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia has its own rhythm. Long sandy beaches, dense forests, well-equipped marinas — and short distances between cities like Tallinn and Riga. In summer, all of it framed by those endless, bright nights.

If you missed last weekend: Our partner Sunlight Sailing is your local point of contact in Riga. They introduced Parasailor in a very hands-on way — right at the sail, giving a clear sense of how the system works and what makes it different.

The idea: to show sailors in the Baltics a solution that makes downwind passages easier, more stable, and simply more enjoyable. That’s exactly what the Parasailor is built for.

Easter Giveaway 🌤️⛵️ Find the Easter eggs – and with a bit of luck, 15% off your new Parasailor might roll your way.

When a boat starts rolling, not much stays where it belongs – everything gets thrown around. Cooking? Not even worth thinking about. It’s a moment most sailors know – and one you’d rather avoid.

With the Parasailor, it’s different: The integrated wing creates a particularly calm, stable sailing behavior on all downwind courses. The galley stays usable – and even your breakfast eggs remain right where they belong. 🥚

That’s why we’ve put together a small Easter giveaway for you: How many Easter eggs can you spot in the image? Take a closer look on our website and, with a bit of luck, win 15% off your new Parasailor. You can participate until April 12, 2026. Join now 👇

And with a bit of luck, win 15% off your new Parasailor sail

Parasailor TechTalk ⛵️ What does the Parasailor wing profile look like?

The Parasailor features an integrated wing profile. It works similarly to an airfoil — comparable to an aircraft on final approach with extended flaps, which is the key characteristic of this hybrid wing design. This specific profile generates lift at an angle of around 45°, meaning the system is not only lifted but also driven forward.

The wing is filled with ram air from aft and sits like an air cushion between the sail panels. This keeps the sail spread and prevents it from collapsing. As a result, the Parasailor is calmer and more stable on all downwind courses compared to a traditional spinnaker or gennaker. The outcome is a downwind sail that works exceptionally well with an autopilot and reduces the boat’s motion — a clear advantage for cruisers and bluewater sailors.
