We’re getting excited! At the end of August, we’ll be meeting up with the Vision community at Port Ginesta — right on the water, with three Vision catamarans, sea trials, plenty of time to chat on board, and of course, Parasailor. 🧡 Thanks for bringing some Spanish vibes to our feed. 🎶 Looks pretty good on us, doesn’t it? 🇪🇸☀️

Catamaran life begins downwind. ⛵️ And this August, it begins at Port Ginesta in Barcelona.

We’re really looking forward to Vision Yachts’ Private Showcase from August 28–30: three state-of-the-art cruising catamarans, sea trials, and conversations with owners whose yachts already have thousands of nautical miles behind them. 🧡 That’s what makes this event so exciting: you won’t just get to look around the boats — you’ll also have the chance to try Parasailor for yourself, weather permitting. ☀️

We’re proud to be part of the event and to show you, both in theory and out on the water, what makes Parasailor different. Unlike a conventional spinnaker or gennaker, it stabilizes itself, manages pressure in the sail in a controlled way, and stays steady even as conditions change over many miles.

The result: a more stable boat, less trimming, and a more relaxed cruising experience. ⛵️ In other words, it’s ideally suited to the special demands a catamaran places on a downwind sail. Anyone joining us in Barcelona will be able to experience exactly that. Link in bio 👆

⛵️ Excess 11 – Built for bluewater.

The Excess 11 is a special catamaran in her class: 37 feet, built in series, yet with ambitions that go far beyond weekend sailing. She combines an impressive amount of space and comfort with a sailing feel you do not always find in cruising catamarans of this size. 🌊 Built for people who want to live on board, travel, and truly sail: to quiet anchorages, remote coastlines, longer passages.

That is exactly where the downwind setup becomes important. On a long passage, the right downwind sail helps define how long the boat can stay under sail, how calmly she moves, and how relaxed the crew feels underway.

Parasailor is a natural fit for catamarans like the Excess 11 because it combines strong drive with self-stabilizing sail behavior. You can see that especially well in this video: even in a seaway and stronger breeze, the wing visibly works to bring the sail back into a stable shape. More of the movement stays in the sail itself instead of being transferred directly to the boat.

🌊 Bluewater at a glance

For many crews, the ARC is the first real step into bluewater sailing: several weeks across the Atlantic, trade wind windows, night watches, a small crew, the autopilot — and a boat that is working nonstop. For many, this is a completely new experience.

Many crews sail short-handed or with limited resources on board. At that point, it becomes less about speed and much more about endurance: How easy can the boat and crew keep going? How much does the boat move? How well can people sleep? And where does wear and tear begin?

Bluewater Briefing 🌊 Between Trade Winds and Night Watches

When people dream about an Atlantic crossing, they often picture colorful sails and endless blue horizons. ⛵️ But bluewater cruising also comes with its own challenges. Two uninterrupted weeks at sea, like many crews experience during the ARC, can create the same strain as 50 to 100 regular daysails with just a few hours on the water each. For the boat, crew, and sail setup, that changes the requirements completely.

Some boats are not defined by their length, but by their attitude. This one definitely belongs in that category: a Lagoon 52F built for serious cruising, flying a Parasailor that is clearly not trying to stay unnoticed. 😅

The Lagoon 52F is made for life on board: space, comfort, safety, and long days at sea. Its rig is designed to make sailing easier and more manageable for the crew. ⛵️ We’re excited to share that Parasailor is once again a Corporate Member of the World Cruising Club for ARC 2026. 🤩

For us, this is more than an official title. It connects directly to the questions crews need to answer before a long passage begins. This is where our new series starts: Before the Miles. 💨 Over the coming weeks, we’ll look at the topics that matter before heading offshore: fewer engine hours, the wing principle, autopilot performance, handling, hoisting and snuffing, crew comfort — and why downwind sails can behave very differently at sea.

Because long passages begin before departure. And the right downwind sail is not a side decision.
