We’re a little late getting the season started, but we’re already incredibly excited for the second half of the season! 🤩

Trying to survive the long winter! The pictures really get you in the mood for the new season!😃

What a year 2025 has been!⛵️

We had a lot of fun, learned a lot and experienced a lot with our little X-79! Our crew pool has continued to grow, and even with changing crew members, we were mostly able to maintain continuity.

Together, we were able to achieve the following successes:

🥉Schinkenregatta
🥉Im Jaich Cup
🥇X-79 Danish Open
4. Cappy Cup
🥇DHH Cup
🥇X-79 German Open
🥇Kalkgrund 2025
🥈MIAR Overall
🥇MIAR Group

We are grateful for all the support we have received as a team over the years! Whether through friends, family or partners – everyone plays an important role.🙏

In particular, we would like to thank and their fantastic support – without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today!

The coming season will be a shorter one for us again, as it was in 2024. Nevertheless, we are already looking forward to a short and intense season from July to October!

Have a happy New Year, stay safe over the winter and have a good start to the new season! ⛵️🎊

8 December 2025 - ORC - Offshore Racing Congress and X-Yachts are working closely together to address the technical questions raised regarding the XR41 and the current parameter limits within the ORC VPP. Both parties share a common goal: to ensure a fair, accurate, and scientifically robust rating system for 2026 and beyond.

𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴:

• Joint review of observed performance data.
• Additional CFD studies, with contributions from X-Yachts’ naval architect Tobias Merkel.
• Independent analysis by external experts, including KND.
• Systematic mapping of ANN-domain coverage to identify structural gaps in model behaviour.
• Evaluation of the current parameter limits and adjust based on scientific evidence.

Both ORC and X-Yachts reaffirm a fundamental principle: the VPP must remain a scientific model — and science is not negotiable.
Any modification to the 2026 VPP must therefore be based on validated data and transparent methodology — not on isolated regatta outcomes or stakeholder interests.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳:

• A balanced and impartial ITC — supported by a commitment to strong governance standards that safeguard against conflicts of interest.
• Open communication and transparency in rule development.
• Ensuring that innovation within yacht design is evaluated through consistent and science-based methods.

This work is progressing with high priority. Once the ongoing analysis produces verified results, ORC will publish a full technical explanation of the background, findings, and implications for the 2026 VPP.

Following this, the results will be presented to the ORC Congress together with any recommended actions regarding the 2026 VPP. The ORC Congress is the body that approves any changes to the VPP.

ORC and X-Yachts remain committed to cooperation, scientific integrity, and ensuring fairness for all competitors.

Statement regarding the ORC decision:

The decision by the Offshore Racing Congress regarding the XR 41 is, in our view, simply incomprehensible – and honestly, unbelievable.

A boat wins on the water – and is then “corrected” afterwards. To us, this decision is based on assumptions and data interpretations that we find technically and sporting-wise impossible to understand. Instead of transparency and trust, what remains is mainly confusion.

The ORC states that everyone must be able to trust that the rules are fair and equal.
After this decision, however, we have to ask very openly:

-> How neutral is this system really?
-> How reliable are the rules if they can be changed after the race?
-> And how fair is a system that revises sporting performance after the fact?

Especially for young sailing teams like us, this raises a much bigger question:
Does it still make sense to invest in this system – in time, money, training and passion – if results can ultimately be rewritten at a desk?

Sailing lives by fairness, transparency, and trust.
If even one of these is weakened, it has consequences – for classes, for teams, and for the future of the sport.

Because in the end, races should be decided at sea – not afterwards in an office.

Wednesday Evening Regatta closing Event⛵️

Yesterday, the annual kale dinner and Wednesday Evening Regatta awards ceremony took place. Pictures from the season were shown on the screen and there was plenty to talk about regarding the past season!

Unfortunately, this means that the 2025 season is now officially over!

Nevertheless, we can look back on a successful MIAR season:
🥈overall
🥇in our group
🥇4x daily victories
🥇fastest X-Yacht

We had a lot of fun throughout the season and learned something new every Wednesday. Success in sailing is not a sprint but a marathon.

Thank you very much for organising and hosting the great event yesterday evening!

Kalkgrund 2025💨⛵️

Last weekend, we sailed the last regatta of the 2025 season!😔

As always, we gladly accepted the invitation from Fahrensodde to the Kalkgrund Regatta! With winds of 10-30 knots, we enjoyed a beautiful day on the water! Unfortunately, we didn’t have much sun, but we had plenty of wind!😜💨

We sailed to the regatta buoy in Langballig. The way there was quite strenuous, but the way back was great fun with boat speeds of up to 10 knots!

At the end of the day, we were delighted to finish in 1st place in our group! Yay!😁

The boat is already out of the water and in the hall. Now we are looking forward to the regatta dinner in November organised by the MIAR-Team!😉

X-79 German Open 2025⛵️💨☀️

We had a wonderful weekend of sailing!😊
On Friday, we started our German Open with winds of around 12-20 knots. Saturday was characterised by significantly less wind. We had 6-12 knots and had to find the right wind strips – we managed that quite well, except for one slip-up at the starting line…😅

With a series of 4-1-2-1-(6)-1, we secured first place with the same number of points as the second-placed team, .x.79 ! This means that, just like last year, we were able to win the German Open!🏆 Hooray!!!

We are very, very happy with our performance and had an all-round successful weekend! A big thank you goes to our supporters, especially and – without you, this would not have been possible!!!🙏

Next weekend, we will be back at the Kalkgrund Regatta, and then, unfortunately, the boat will be going back into storage.

DHH Cup 2025 - Part of Förde Week

What a ride today! 💨☀️⛵️
Started in front of the fsc and headed out to the entrance of the outer fjord. The wind and weather were as forecast – sunshine in the afternoon and winds of 15-30 knots!💨
The way out was fun, we surfed down the waves at up to 12 knots boat speed. The way back, however, was slow and the upwind was very exhausting.

Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and can be happy about a 2nd place in our group!🥈

Tomorrow morning, there are still a few preparations to be made, and then our German Open will start around noon! ⛵️
