Three new European AquaWalking Monitors trained in Latvia
From 8 July 2026, an ERA Training Course for AquaWalking Monitors was organised in Latvia with the approval of the AquaWalking Steering Committee.
The course was led by Philippe Chipon and Sophie Chipon, who trained three motivated participants to become European AquaWalking Monitors:
- Evita Ozolina
- Ineta Jankovska
- Ineta Teivane
The training was supported by the Latvian AquaWalking community and by ORA VIVIDA, the newly established AquaWalking club in Jūrmala.
Following this course, the Latvian AquaWalking community now has:
- 15 monitors
- 2 coaches
- 1 instructor
This development reflects the continued growth of AquaWalking in Latvia and the commitment of local participants and organisations to developing high-quality activities and qualified leaders.
European AquaWalking Camp planned for 2027
The twinning partnership between the cities of Jūrmala in Latvia and Mandelieu in France is also creating new opportunities for European cooperation.
Through the collaboration between the clubs AWA and ORA VIVIDA, the partners are planning a major European AquaWalking Camp in Jūrmala in July 2027.
ERA congratulates the three new European AquaWalking Monitors and everyone who contributed to the successful training course. We look forward to following the further development of AquaWalking in Latvia and the preparations for the European AquaWalking Camp in 2027.
