❓ Carrying tension in your body after a long day?
❓ Finding it hard to truly switch off and relax?
❓ What if your body could release what your mind keeps holding onto?

🎶 Music: “Gobinde Mukande” by Kiana Maria

🤍 MOVEMENT RELAXATION SERIES
Kundalini Yoga

The original teaching explains that our daily emotions can leave patterns of tension in the body. Instead of trying to “think” your way out of them, this practice uses free movement, touch, breath and complete relaxation to help the body let go.

➊ FREE MOVEMENT • 3–11 min
Close your eyes. Feel the tension in different parts of the body and consciously let it go. Then allow the whole body to sway and move freely. Keep the movement rhythmic, unforced and graceful.

➋ CONSCIOUS TOUCH • 3–5 min
Keep your eyes closed and gently feel every part of your body with your hands. Take your time — the original instruction says every square inch should be touched.

➌ RELAXED FORWARD FOLD • 3–11 min
Lean forward and let your arms hang completely loose. Relax the muscles of the body and allow the breath to stay natural.

➍ RELAXED BACKBEND • 1 min
Take several deep breaths, then slowly lean backwards with the arms hanging loosely. Keep the breath relaxed.

🧘‍♀️ Finish with 10 minutes lying on your back in complete relaxation.

✨ WHY PRACTICE IT?
• releases accumulated physical tension
• helps the whole body deeply relax
• brings awareness back into the body
• combines movement and sensory awareness
• creates a transition from emotional activation into rest

❓ Energy all over the place?
❓ Mind jumping everywhere?
❓ Need to gather yourself?

PADMANI KRIYA — ENERGIZING & HEALING. Kundalini Yoga pranayama traditionally taught for women only.

HOW TO PRACTICE:

➊ Sit with the spine straight. Bring the elbows together in front of the chest and form the hand position shown in the reel. Focus through the triangle formed by the little fingers, just above the thumbs.

➋ Inhale slowly and deeply through the nose until the lungs are full. Close both nostrils with the thumbs and hold the breath as long as comfortably possible.

➌ Release the thumbs and exhale through the nose. With the nostrils open, hold the breath out as long as comfortably possible. Then inhale and repeat.

⏱️ Begin with 3 minutes and gradually increase to 11 minutes.

The traditional instruction also suggests mentally concentrating on an area of the body you would like to strengthen while practicing.

⚠️ Breath retention is not appropriate for everyone. Avoid long breath holds during pregnancy or if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, significant cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, or if retention makes you dizzy or unwell.

❓ When was the last time you consciously blessed yourself?
❓ Can you give yourself 11 minutes without asking anything from anyone?
❓ What changes when the person giving you support is you?

✨ MEDITATION TO BLESS YOURSELF

A simple 11-minute Kundalini meditation combining mantra, movement and focused attention.

HOW TO PRACTICE

➊ Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine
➋ Raise both arms to the sides, elbows bent at 90°, palms facing forward
➌ Focus your eyes at the tip of the nose
➍ Chant with Nirinjan Kaur — “Humee Hum Brahm Hum”

HUMEE HUM — touch the top of your head with your left hand, blessing yourself
BRAHM HUM — return the arm to the starting position

⏱️ Continue rhythmically for 11 minutes.

TO FINISH:
Inhale, hold the breath, tighten the spine and strongly engage the left hand. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times, then relax.

Traditionally, this meditation is practiced as an act of self-blessing — a reminder to bring kindness, humility and compassion toward yourself as well as others.

❓ Feeling overheated, restless, or mentally overloaded?
❓ Need a simple way to slow down and reset?
❓ Can you stay with your breath for just one minute?

🌬️ SITALI PRANAYAMA — COOLING BREATH

A traditional yogic breathing technique used to cool the body, calm the mind, and bring a sense of mental clarity.

HOW TO PRACTICE:
➊ Roll your tongue into a U-shape
➋ Inhale slowly through the rolled tongue
➌ Close the mouth and exhale gently through the nose
➍ Continue with a smooth, comfortable rhythm

⏱️ Try 1 minute with me. If it feels comfortable, gradually continue for 3–5 minutes.

Traditionally, Sitali is also associated with supporting digestion and helping settle excess internal heat.

⚠️ Keep the breath gentle. Stop if you feel dizzy or uncomfortable. Avoid practicing in very cold conditions or if breathing cool air irritates your throat or lungs.
