The UBCOB Ravens are deeply saddened by the passing of Joan Porter, a Ravens club legend and continued sideline supporter for decades at Jericho.

Joan, a 2019 BC Rugby Hall of Fame inductee and Ravens Lifetime Member, will be missed by the entire Ravens community as well as the wider Vancouver and BC Rugby community.

We will honour Joan with a moment of silence at our first Premier team home game of the season this year, where we know she will be cheering us on in spirit.

RIP Joan Porter, you were loved by all who met you.

Congratulations to Rugby Canada on a successful round of the Nations Cup, finishing with a victory over Zimbabwe!

We want to give a special recognition to the five Ravens who are part of the squad: Takoda McMullin, Liam James, Lucas Rumball, Reegan O’Gorman, and Lockie Kratz.

We are proud to have you as representatives of our club!

Men’s Premiership Coaching Update

After four successful years, including three Rounsefell Cups, Head Coach Chris Taylor is stepping down from his role at the Ravens. Chris’ impact on the club cannot be overstated, and we are tremendously grateful for his contributions.

Stepping into his place is Graham Turner, previously Head Coach of the Under 18 boys and Men’s Premier Assistant Coach. The U18 program has evolved significantly over the last five years, and will be in good hands with Joe Locke moving forward.

Joining the Men’s Premier team coaching staff as a new face is Bill Chamberlain. Head coach of the successful St George’s High School team, with experience from Canada Age Grade programs, the Vancouver Highlanders, and Dog River Howlers, we look forward to having Bill with the club moving forward.
