BCMCL

BCMCL Official page of the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League (BCMCL), Canada The regular season runs from the mid Match to the Labour Day weekend.

The British Columbia Mainland Cricket League (BCMCL) was founded in 1914 by seven founding member clubs. It is a competitive league and is known for its scenic cricket grounds, most notably Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.C. Currently, the league has 84 teams (including junior teams), which are organized into 9 divisions. The games are mainly held during the whole of the summer, against teams in the sa

me division. At the end of the season, playoffs against the top two teams in each division are held, in which teams compete to move up in the division. Teams that end the season at the bottom of their division are relegated to the lower level. The league also holds other T10, T20, and Six A Six tournaments during the season under the Special Events banner. Players are selected from the league to represent the Provincial, and National teams. The league rents grounds from the cities of Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Noth Vancouver, Burnaby, West Vancouver, Surrey, and Vancouver. League currently has one turf pitch.

NOTICE REGARDING RULE 10 ENFORCEMENT

BCMCL has become aware that certain players registered with BCMCL participated in an event organized outside of BCMCL on June 1, 2026.

As participation in that event constitutes a contravention of Rule 10 of the BCMCL Governing Rules, the affected players have been suspended for two games and will not be eligible to participate in BCMCL regular season matches, any BCMCL club activities, or other BCMCL events during their suspension period.

This remains an evolving matter. BCMCL's review of potential Rule 10 violations is ongoing. Should additional violations be identified, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the Governing Rules.

Players who have been suspended will be eligible to return to BCMCL activities after serving their suspension, provided there are no further violations of Rule 10.

BCMCL is also providing affected players with an opportunity to submit information or evidence should they believe the suspension has been issued in error.

All clubs are requested to remind their players of the requirements and consequences associated with Rule 10.

BCMCL will continue to enforce Rule 10 in order to protect the integrity, fairness, scheduling, field allocations, and orderly administration of the BCMCL regular season and BCMCL events.

Important BCMCL Weekday T20 Update

Please note that the BCMCL Weekday T20 first division competition has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts and field permit issues. Permits and facilities that have historically been used for BCMCL events were allocated to another league, directly impacting our ability to continue the competition as originally scheduled. ( 2nd division will continue with no impact )

We understand the frustration this has caused for players, clubs, umpires, and volunteers. BCMCL is actively working on solutions and will provide further updates as soon as they become available.

Rule 10 Reminder

Please ensure that all your players are aware of the consequences of breaching Rule 10.

As BCMCL is no longer affiliated with the West Coast Cricket Organization (Cricket BC), any player who participates in a Cricket BC-organized league or competition while registered with BCMCL will be considered in breach of Rule 10.

The penalties are as follows:

โ€ข First Offence: Suspension for two (2) BCMCL matches.
โ€ข Second Offence: Forfeiture of the playerโ€™s BCMCL registration.

These rules were established and approved by BCMCL member clubs, and league management is obligated to enforce them fairly and consistently.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and continued support of BCMCL and community cricket

Building futures

๐Ÿ Womenโ€™s Cricket Update

We had a fantastic turnout for todayโ€™s womenโ€™s match, highlighting the continued growth and enthusiasm for the game.

A special congratulations to our first half-century of the season, a wonderful achievement that set the tone for an exciting day of cricket. Equally impressive was a scintillating 40-run innings from the incredibly talented Azmin Chahal, who is just 12 years old. Her confidence, skill, and composure at such a young age were truly remarkable and a glimpse of a very bright future ahead.
