We’re excited to share that Hockey Canada athletes and coaching staff are coming to Surrey for three unique development opportunities this September! Whether you're an athlete looking to sharpen your skills on the ice or a coach wanting to learn from the best, there's a session for you.

Here’s what’s coming up:

Athlete Development Session

🗓 When: Monday, September 21 | 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM

📍 Where: North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex

Coach Development Session

🗓 When: Monday, September 21

⏰ Schedule: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM (On-ice) | 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Dinner & discussion with Hockey Canada staff)

📍 Where: North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex

Open Para Hockey Try-It Session

🗓 When: Wednesday, September 23 | 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM (Please arrive by 6:30 PM)

SportAbility is recruiting Provincial Para Hockey coaches for the 2026/2027 season! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals with experience coaching/playing hockey who are looking for a meaningful way to make an impact and create a positive, athlete-focused environment where people can achieve their goals.

We have three open roles: Provincial High Performance Head and Assistant Coach positions, as well as a Provincial Development and Junior Coaching role.

Coaches will work alongside SportAbility BC staff to deliver training camps, support athlete development, provide mentorship, and help strengthen para hockey pathways throughout the province. Opportunities include on-ice coaching, athlete evaluation, tournament participation, and program planning. Coaching at regular Surrey-based programming is considered an asset.

Previous para hockey and/or para sport experience is an asset, but additional training can be provided.

Join Our Team!
We're hiring a Para Hockey Lead and Regional Sport Coordinator to lead our Para Hockey program in Victoria and support sport development and community initiatives across Para Ice Hockey, Power Soccer, Frame Running and CP/Para Soccer in the Victoria Capital Region.

This is a part-time (8hr/week position) from late August 2026-April 2027. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by sending a resume and cover letter to SportAbility BC Executive Director Donna Cu***ng at [email protected] as soon as possible.

SportAbility BC is excited to share an upcoming Women’s Development Session hosted by Women’s Para Hockey of Canada!

This free on-ice session is open to girls and women+ of all skill levels, whether you’re brand new to para hockey or looking to grow your game in a supportive, fun environment. Equipment is available if needed!
