“You cannot aspire to what you are never exposed to. Representation opens doors long before opportunity arrives.”
Earlier today I had the opportunity to experience, explore and connect with my Fr. Henry Carr school community on their 3rd annual career fair hosted by the Black Student Association.
I represented on behalf of our parent council and gathered information to share with the parent community within our school.
The goal of this year was for students to see themselves at the "Canvas" of their lives.
The event had representatives across various career and industry sectors such as D1 student athlete Caleb Johnson who is an alumni of FHC, Bryan Addo who is the graduation coach and more for the TCDSB supporting students to ensure their needs are met for successful graduation.
I was ecstatic to see Keana and May Foz of Point Goddess where they share their experiences at the intersection of sports, community empowerment, non profit and more.
Events like this provide students the opportunity to ask questions, learn, connect and network.
As always thank you to the dedicated staff and students (past and present) that continue to make FHC a welcoming place where opportunities are endless and every student is seen.
Till next year ✌🏿✌🏿
