Her passion for horses never wavered, and she remained a dedicated horsewoman throughout her life.

Francine was a respected member of the Canadian horse racing community whose dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the sport will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved her during this difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our beloved “Queen of Fort Erie,” jockey Francine Villeneuve. A trailblazing pioneer, fierce competitor, and true ambassador of our sport, Francine will never be forgotten at Fort Erie Race Track.
She etched her name in the record books by securing her 1,000th career win on our track; a milestone that cemented her legacy as the first Canadian female jockey to reach that extraordinary mark. Her grace, determination, and love for the game inspired generations of riders and fans alike.
Rest in peace, Francine. You will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
