More than a season. 🦅💙

This year, our players became mentors, role models, and friends.

Through our buddy program, each player was paired with a young buddy, kicking things off at the Eagles locker room with backpacks full of school supplies and Eagles gear, then showing up week after week to visit them at school. Just to check in. Just to hang out. Just to be there.

And the kids grew. There’s nothing like walking the halls as the most popular kid in school next to a guy in an Eagles jersey. 😎
Community is one of our four pillars, and this program is exactly why. Watching these buddies cross the stage at graduation, we know this made a real, lasting difference in their lives.

A huge thank you to the Surrey School District for helping us find the kids who’d benefit most all season long, and to the Rick Hart Foundation for the support that built the foundation for this program. Here’s to many more years to come. 🙌

The Surrey Eagles are excited to announce a new goaltending development partnership with Stage One Goaltending and JD1 Goaltending.

Harry Fredeman joins as Director of Goaltending, head goalie coach BCHL (Stage One Goaltending), and Josh Dias joins as Associate Goalie Coach for the Surrey Eagles, JPHL, and HPL (JD1 Goaltending).

We're excited to announce the signing of Brant Romaniuk (2007) for the 2026-2027 season!

Brant joins the Eagles after an impressive run with the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Known for his elite pace, relentless work ethic, and fierce competitiveness, Brant has established himself as a player who drives culture and pushes those around him to be better. His commitment to excellence and desire to reach the next level make him a perfect fit for the standard we're building in Surrey.

We're also thrilled to announce the signing of Tommy Coccaro (2007).

Tommy arrives from the Sherwood Park Crusaders as a high-impact player with a relentless competitive edge and lightning-quick speed. Tommy's intensity, work ethic, and fiery approach to the game elevate everyone around him, and his commitment to continuous development aligns perfectly with the identity of the Surrey Eagles.

We have also committed Jackson Mosley who joins the organization from the New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U AAA program after a strong season in the NAPHL. A skilled forward with a strong two-way game.

We're thrilled to welcome Brant, Tommy, and Jackson along with their families to the Surrey Eagles organization.

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO TYSON PATCH! 🎉

Tyson was one of the entries in tonight’s raffle draw at the Ocean Cliff School fundraiser and is the lucky winner of a spot in the Surrey Eagles Hockey School this July!

The prize includes our full three-week hockey school program, featuring elite on-ice and off-ice development led by the Surrey Eagles and DJR Hockey staff.

It is with profound sadness that the Surrey Eagles announce the sudden passing of Nick Johnston, known by so many as ‘Big Nick.’

Nick was a cherished member of the Surrey Eagles family and, to many, the heart and soul of the Surrey Eagles. His impact extended far beyond the rink. His unwavering dedication, generous spirit, and larger-than-life personality touched countless players, coaches, staff, volunteers, and fans throughout the years. Whether offering support, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand, Nick made everyone around him feel valued and welcomed.

The loss of Big Nick leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he influenced and the memories he helped create within our organization and community.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Nick’s family, friends, and all those mourning this heartbreaking loss. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the lasting mark he leaves on the Surrey Eagles.

Rest easy, Big Nick. You will always be a part of the Surrey Eagles family and will never be forgotten.

🦅 WELCOME TO THE EAGLES FAMILY, JIM VANDEMEER 🦅

The Surrey Eagles are excited to announce that Jim Vandermeer will be joining the organization through DJR Hockey as our Skills Development Coach for the 2026-27 season.

Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from over 400 NHL games, along with a passion for teaching the details, habits, and mindset required to succeed at the highest levels of the game.

His experience, leadership, and ability to connect with players will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build a championship culture and provide our athletes with elite development opportunities.

We’re thrilled to welcome Jim to the Surrey Eagles family and look forward to the impact he’ll have on our players this season.
