SMAA was founded in Jan 2018 by UFC Athlete Jason Saggo. Our goal is to instill attitudinal qualities that will assist our members in achievi

ng positive life goals through martial arts, while strengthening their bodies and minds in the process. We offer classes in self-defence, MMA, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, kids martial arts (ages 4 – 12), women only classes and strength and conditioning. We also offer private lessons, birthday parties and dry-land training for local sports teams. Whether your goal is to lead a healthier more active lifestyle or to start your journey in Martial Arts – SMAA is for you. 📣 PEI MMA Schedule Update – Correction

We apologize for the confusion regarding tomorrow’s schedule.

❌ Stratford classes are also cancelled tomorrow.

✅ O’Leary classes are running as scheduled. (ALL PEI MMA MEMBERS ARE WELCOMED TO TRAIN THERE)

Many of our members and coaches will be participating in the BJJ Seminar and our upcoming Muay Thai In-House Exhibition Event, resulting in class cancellations in Stratford and Summerside.

Just a reminder that we will be CLOSED for both kids classes tomorrow, Saturday June 13th. Women’s Only class will run as usual.

We will be hosting a seminar from Professor Paul Abel from 9:30am-11:30am. Kids who are 10+ and at least a White/Grey Belt are welcome to come in place of their class!

We have a massive day of martial arts lined up for Saturday, June 13th at our Slemon Park location. Two incredible events, totally FREE for all PEI MMA members!

Here is everything you need to know:

🥋 Event 1: Prof. Paul Abel BJJ Gi Seminar

- Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Who can attend: All adult members, plus kids/teens aged 10+ who are White or Grey belts and above. Don't miss the chance to learn from Prof. Paul Abel!

🥊 Event 2: PEI MMA In-House Kickboxing Exhibition

- Time: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
- Who can attend: Come out, support your teammates, and witness some incredible skills on display. Free for all members to attend and spectate!

- ALL Kids Classes are CANCELLED on Saturday, June 13th so our team and coaches can focus on these special events. (Eligible kids 10+ are highly encouraged to hit the BJJ seminar instead!).

We had a wonderful day on Saturday watching the Maritimes young BJJ athletes show their skills! Everyone tried their hardest and it was an impressive display of abilities.

Thank you to all of the competitors and their families for coming out (especially quite a few from off island!) - we had our biggest turn out yet.

What an incredible weekend at the PEI MMA BJJ Tournament! 🥋🔥

​We had over 90 amazing youth competitors hit the mats, showcasing their skills, determination, and heart. Watching these kids put everything they’ve learned into practice is exactly why we do what we do.

​From building strong minds and bodies to growing in confidence and—most importantly—having fun, every single competitor did an outstanding job.

​A massive thank you to all the coaches, referees, volunteers, and the incredible parents who came out to support and cheer on the next generation of martial artists. The future of PEI BJJ is looking incredibly bright! 🌟
