Join us Sunday, May 31, 12:00-3:00pm, for the official grand opening of the new Sooke Skate Park!

Event highlights:
~Official ribbon cutting ceremony
~Live skateboarding demonstrations
~Food and refreshments available for purchase
~A DJ, prizes, and giveaways

Interested in skateboarding lessons? Zoe Zollinger, an up and coming amateur skateboarder from Vancouver Island, and coaches trained by Canada Skateboard, will be on site 10:00am-12:00pm, May 31, offering FREE lessons at the Skate Park, before the start of the event. Registration is not required. Just bring your board and helmet! A great opportunity to learn from some of the best!

Parking Information: Please consider walking, riding your bikes, or better yet ride your skateboard or scooter! Limited parking is available at Journey Middle School, and SEAPARC Recreation Centre, which is just a short walk away via the trail behind the Bike Park.

Attention DeMamiel Creek Golfers: The area around the golf course will be busy this Sunday from 12:00-3:00pm, due to the Skate Park event. We ask for your patience while we celebrate this important community milestone and invite you to celebrate with us!

Lots of entertainment for the whole family this Sunday, May 31!
Visit both the Skate Park Grand Opening and stay for the Sooke Strong Futures Stronger event in the Journey School Parking lot.
We encourage people to walk or roll to these events as parking will be VERY limited. There will be lots of parking available at SEAPARC, a short forest trail walk away.
