Established in 1958, Lakeside Curling Club is a 3-sheet rink that provides a social and recreational facility for the residents of Seba Beach, Tomahawk, Entwistle, Evansburg, Wabamum and points in between.

A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who stepped up to help get our curling rink ready for the season.

This week our crew took on the heavy task of prepping the ice floor by removing the extra sand that covers the refrigeration lines. By removing this sand layer, the tubes are at the surface. This allows for less sand/water to freeze and will result in energy savings.

We also have some exciting news for this season. We are introducing reusable ice sheet liners, which will completely eliminate the need to paint the ice surface. This means great looking ice graphics and reduced installation time.

A special shout out and thank you to Fortis for providing funding through the FortisAlberta Save Energy Grant which covers a portion of the cost for these new liners. The support of FortisAlberta helps us run our club more efficiently and economically!

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the ice. Stay tuned for opening dates!

We did it! Our Lakeside Curling Club auction was a massive success, and we had an absolute blast with all of you!

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to the generous donors who provided such fantastic auction items. Because of your incredible support, we had an amazing lineup including:

Beautiful gift and flower baskets.
Highly coveted Oilers, Oil Kings and Edmonton Elks tickets.
A prized, signed Connor McDavid jersey!
Stunning artwork and a garden arbour.
Fun kid's table, goodies & gift certificates.
Relaxing pontoon and river cruises and so much more!

Every single dollar raised goes directly toward our non-profit club’s operating expenses, keeping our ice ready and our community vibrant.

To everyone who donated items, attended the event and placed winning bids—THANK YOU! Without each and every one of you this event simply would not have happened, let alone been the incredible success it was. We truly have the best community. 💙

UP, UP, UP! What an incredible live auction at the LSCC fundraiser!

A massive thank you to the absolute greatest auctioneering team around—Rockin Wheels Auctions Scott Douglas and his team of Alben, Jan and Darren wrangled up the heat, kept the energy electric and got the bidding moving fast. If you are planning an upcoming fundraiser or charity event, we highly recommend these guys as auctioneers.

Of course, a live auction is nothing without incredible items. We are deeply grateful to our generous donors for providing such an amazing lineup this year, including:

Handcrafted items (a beautiful quilt, cribbage board table and antique chest.)
Stunning artwork.
Thrilling pontoon and airboat rides.
Practical essentials (road crush gravel, firewood and a pallet of peat moss.)
Edmonton Oil Kings and Oilers tickets.
A balcony grill, a generator and so much more!!!

It’s a truck load of gravel, donated by Schafers Aggregates of Seba Beach worth $400. It’s in addition to club member George Haw’s donation of a SECOND truckload of gravel also from Schafers Aggregates. Both items include local delivery.
