Awards night recap!
Pendleton award- Gerrit Delver. This award is focused on all things club encompassed. The true embodiment of what it means to be a krem. Well deserved to our head coach who put in tireless hours to make sure the team had all the tools for success, in all facets. Aside from coaching duties, he filled in at fundraisers, tirelessly managed funding as our treasurer, helped with community events, and even put in a few 72 hour registrations when numbers were looking dicey on the field. Bonus points for helping coach u of s!
Forward of the year- Matt Mcfall. Small but mighty, this man put in serious hours at front row in all of our big games, and a few cheeky starts at 8 and the centres. True Clydesdale work rate.
Back of the year- Chadi Sinclair. The brains of the operation. Barking orders, making key conversions, assisting on numerous try’s, and making big the big hits on the opposing forwards when they broke the line.
Most improved- Brian Pitzel. Stepping into centre this year, he made for one of the best 1-2 punch centre combo in the province. Awareness and game knowledge made him a shoe-in for this award.
Rookie of the year- Josh Ashby. Brute strength came naturally to this player, but what we couldn’t have seen coming was his ability to adapt and improve as the season went on. Barely cracking the roster in the first game, to a staple in the Div 1 lineup by the end of the season. Nothing flashy, just another tireless workhorse!
MVP- Rory Quinn. After missing 2 games in the second half of the season, he vowed to the team to make up for it in tries, and he delivered closing in on 20 for the year. The big reason was his defensive presence though. His blinding speed surprised many a foe, and he had dying minute goal line tackle/jackles that won us at least 3 games!
The fun awards!
Crushed can- Jasper Kidd. Hardest hitter
Chauss award- Xavier Genoway. Social heart of the team.
Broken taco- Garson Lui. Bandaid award
