We’re excited to officially announce Ben Gamble as our coach this season! 💪🏼🔥
He brings a lifetime of curling experience, a passion for development, and a pretty cool full-circle story that makes this partnership even more special.
Ben started curling in the Little Rockers program at the Lindale Elementary in Moose Jaw under Kathy Morash. Years later, when Ben was in his 20s, Kathy gave him a call asking if he could help out with the Little Rockers program because she had a really talented young up-and-comer. That player? None other than our skip, Skylar Ackerman. Safe to say this partnership has been a long time in the making.
Ben has curled competitively in men’s, mixed, and doubles, bringing experience from multiple disciplines of the game. In 2023, after rupturing his Achilles, he traded in the gripper for a clipboard and stepped into coaching.
Ben has worked with Team Saskatchewan’s wheelchair curling program, helping them to capture a provincial title and recently, he had the opportunity to coach Team Saskatchewan at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Being part of that environment and supporting athletes at an elite level only deepened his passion for coaching and confirmed that this is exactly where he’s meant to be.
Ben’s coaching mindset is rooted in growth, belief, and pushing limits. His goal is to help athletes see what they’re truly capable of and then raise that bar even higher. He brings energy, positivity, and accountability to the ice… and yes, he’s also been known to mix in the occasional well-timed jump scare just to keep his teams sharp and on their toes.
We’re excited to have his experience, passion, and personality behind the glass this season. Let’s get to work.🔥
