⭐️Meet SKYLAR YU 🌜🫧🪉

⭐️Skylar has been dancing at FadaDance since the age of 3! After more than 16 years as a FadaDancer, she has spent the past three years sharing her love of dance as a Kids Tech teacher. In addition to teaching, Skylar is a member of the Emerging Company, where she has been able to create and collaborate with fellow artists and performers on works of her own 🫶

⭐️In her movement style, Skylar is known for her elegance, focus, and spirit. She trusts her strong intuition, internal musicality, and perceptive eye for detail to carve shapes into the space around her 🔷

⭐️Skylar has fully submerged herself in her love of the arts, music and performance. She takes pride in being part of Regina’s creative community and draws on her experiences through dance and music to create art of her own. She is also a member of , an emerging non-profit dedicated to raising funds for the local community through live performance 🎨🎭🌎

⭐️Skylar finds creative inspiration in the simultaneity of existing both independently and among other living beings. She is fueled by sound in all its forms, from complex musical arrangements to the simplicity of wind whistling through trees or water dripping into a storm drain. Poetry, as well as the influence of her friends, mentors, and mother, continue to shape and inspire her artistic practice 🌬️

⭐️Skylar’s favourite Fada memory was the 2023 FadaDance Youth Company Toronto trip, where she was able to witness and learn a new dance form, watch an Akram Khan Company performance, and explore the big city 🏙️

⭐️We are so excited to have Skylar return for the 2026-27 dance season! 😁

✨ At FadaDance, our Creative and Contemporary dance programs invite young dancers to explore, imagine, create, and connect.

🌟 Guided by experienced dance educators, dancers engage with storytelling, music, art, improvisation, choreography, and contemporary dance technique while building confidence, body awareness, problem-solving skills, and a rich movement vocabulary.

💫 Whether they are exploring new ways to move, engaging in the creative process, or stepping onto the stage, each dancer is encouraged to develop their own artistic voice in a supportive and inclusive environment.

⭐️ Meet ISABELLA WISHLOW 🪩🫀🌪

⭐️ A true pillar of FadaDance, Isabella has been part of the fold since the very beginning as one of Misty’s OG creative dance students 👯

⭐️ A self-described rigorous whirlwind, Isabella brings both intensity and joy to her creative practice. She’s fueled by connection, movement, and the magic of a packed dance floor, where she can play, be free, and unlock new movement codes. She often jokes that the dance floor is her “professional development” 🥳

⭐️ Isabella is proud to be part of this creative powerhouse in Regina and deeply grateful for her lifelong mentors, Misty, Fran, and Heather, who continue to shape generations of dance artists ♾️

⭐️ No stranger to dancing at festivals, parks, and unconventional spaces, one of her favourite memories is performing as a young dancer at Holy Rosary Park during . Dressed in a handmade turquoise polkadot costume, she remembers how performing in the park felt like the biggest deal… and it still holds that same magic today! 🎪

⭐️ We can’t wait to see how Isa continues to inspire her classes in the 2026/27 dance year 💫

✨SPRING SESSIONAL OFFERING: Open Movement Lab - starting Friday, April 10!✨

Open Movement Lab is a 9-week dance session for adults who are eager to perform and expand their movement comfort zone. Each class begins with guided improvisation, cardio, and floorwork to warm up and explore movement. From there, we’ll learn phrases, collaborate in groups, and build choreography that evolves into a performance piece.

Dancers in this session will also have the opportunity to perform in the FadaDance Year-End Performance (June 15 & 16, 2026)—a really special way to bring the work to life.

All levels of movers and shakers are welcome—just bring your commitment, curiosity, and a desire to perform.

⭐️ Meet SOPHIE KIMBALL-KING 📸 🧸💌

⭐️ Sophie has been dancing since the age of 3 and has called FadaDance home since 2016. She has been assisting and teaching in our creative dance program since 2025 🌈

⭐️ As a dancer, Sophie is known for being determined, expressive, and passionate. Her choreography is intentional, and she considers how story and music can enhance the choreography. Sophie is deeply connected to dance and recognizes it as a huge part of who she is 🫶

⭐️ She values her relationships within the FadaDance community and the growth she’s experienced in the last 10 years. One of her most special memories is stepping onto the stage for her very first Youth Company performance in 2024. It was a moment filled with gratitude, pride, and a deep love for the community that surrounds her 💛

⭐️ We are so delighted that Sophie will be returning to teach in the 2026/27 dance year!

FadaDance Troupe, a professional and youth contemporary dance company in Regina, needs your support to raise $2,500. We are looking for 100 people to donate $25 by March 15, 2026. All funds will go directly towards the mentorship of emerging artists and presentation of new work by the FadaDance Troupe Youth Company and Emerging Ensemble at the ShuBox Theatre March 14-15, 2026.
