Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, our thoughts are with all Nunavimmiut affected by su***de - those we have lost, their families, friends, communities, and everyone who continues to carry their memory. ❤️
Nunavik is particularly affected by su***de, and this day is an important reminder of the need to support one another, talk openly about mental health, listen without judgment, and make sure people know that asking for help is always welcomed.
At Inukrock, our psychosocial approach is part of the way we work with youth. Through climbing, time on the land, teamwork, individual support and simply spending time together, we try to create spaces where young people can feel connected, valued and supported - and where asking for help is welcomed.
Today, we stand wholeheartedly with the people of Nunavik. Prevention is something we can all be part of — by checking in, listening, being present and connecting people with support when they need it.
