After an amazing pre Christmas season here in Mexico we are starting our 6 country drive to Cody’s Rica.
I will try to keep you posted to our progress and route for those that want to follow along.
Tomorrow we will reach Arriaga, Chispas, México where the freight train La Bestia departs typically with hundreds of migrants fleeing both physical, environmental and economical insecurities in a desperate attempt to get work further north.
The Catholic Church runs a small hostel where migrants can rest and recuperate after walking over 300 km from the southern border typically fleeing capture and persecution from Mexican authorities, gangs, bandits and cartels.
We are starting our annual “24 Hour Flash Fundraiser” to purchase needed supplies for the Migrant Shelter/Hostel. 100% of your contribution goes to the purchase of things like rice, beans, sugar, coffee, biscuits, feminine pads, fruit, vegetables etc. we accept donations vía e-transfer to [email protected] or PayPal [email protected].
