Portage Jiujitsu Self-defense taught by qualified, experienced instructors. Everyone is welcome! Students receive thorough instruction and are held to rigorous standards.

Portage Jiu-Jitsu has been in existence since 1987 and has trained hundreds of students. Instructors expect the best of themselves and of their students. Our traditional style of Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes self-defense, constantly training for real situations in a realistic manner. The curriculum covers a full range of defenses for punching, kicking, grabbing, weapons attacks, seated, and ground situati

ons. At Portage Jiu-Jitsu we stress strategies for preventing confrontation while at the same time training in physical techniques that can be employed when physical confrontation is unavoidable. Currently classes are open to people ages 12+ and take place every Tuesday from 7-8pm.

Jiu-Jitsu is ramping up again for the season! Our start date in September 3rd 2026.

Our classes run every Tuesday and Thursday afterwards providing there are no interruptions due to weather or sickness.

If PCI busses are not running, Jiu-Jitsu will be cancelled

Our kids classes are for 8-12 years of age and are a flat rate of $80/month

Our adult class is co-ed and we have a drop-in fee of $12/night.

We are also being contracted by Prairie Fusion to instruct a women's self defence class and a Mommy and Me class. I've provided the links below.
