Hammock or tent? 🤔

Sometimes you don’t have a choice - like when Claire and Braden paddled the incredibly remote and sparsely populated east coast of Nicaragua.

At times, with only dense mangroves in sight, they had to drag their TRAK kayaks onto layers of woven roots and find a comfy little “nest” to camp in for the night.

Suspended above the water in this natural woven palace, they had to be extra careful not to drop anything, but the chance to rest and stretch out was worth the risk.

Let's face it. Most people in the world today have no idea what a real sea kayak is capable of.

We're on a mission to change that.

When our team produced the first TRAK folding sea kayak over 20 years ago, sea kayaking was in the global spotlight. Feature films and documentaries were being made about the sport, and baby boomers around the world were investing in high-end fibreglass boats to take them further, carry more gear, and thrive in more complex conditions.

This all changed with the widespread introduction of cheap inflatables, origami 'kayaks,' and paddleboards - most of them made by companies with no history in watersports. With most new models having more in common with toys than real watercraft, these increasingly portable products gradually saturated the mainstream market with low-cost, low-quality options that altered what people came to expect from 'kayaking' in general.

TRAK stands in the face of this movement to relegate sea kayaking to a dull, pedestrian activity. At the same time, we believe in protecting this sport from obsolescence by making sea kayaking more possible and accessible - not by cutting corners, but by engineering real sea kayaks that fit the lifestyles of modern paddlers: compact AND performance-oriented.

They say if you want to go far, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.

Well, anyone who's ever been on a 'couples adventure' knows that this adage is often easier said than done. Passions and hobbies don't always align, and tensions can rise quickly when partners don't share the same goals or risk tolerances.

But minor 'conflicts' like these are also raw opportunities to practice patience, shared decision-making, and compromise - the same relational skills we need to thrive in the so-called 'real world.'

Maybe that's what leads TRAK paddlers like Claire and Braden to keep exploring the world by water, together. Over the years, they've used their kayaks to access remote communities and provide frontline medical care for villages only accessible by water. When they’re not making the world a better place, they can be found TRAK’n in Alaska and around their home turf in Colorado.

Sure, solo missions get a lot of attention, but these couples and small teams of TRAK paddlers like Braden and Claire inspire us just as much!

While the rest of us enjoy some of the longest days of the year, paddlers from the southern Hemisphere are preparing for winter. Ice is forming again on the lakes and fjords, and ocean conditions are getting fierce.

As this cycle repeats, Patagonian paddlers and guides like Rodolfo ( ) have a choice: either hunker down for the cold, or pack up their TRAK kayaks to head north - towards the sun!

Our intrepid adventurers of the South Pacific have returned victorious - alive, fulfilled, and amazed!

Designed and led by TRAK Pilot Zack Kruzins of in May 2026, these two back-to-back kayak expeditions introduced TRAK paddlers from around the world the legendary islands and coral atolls of French Polynesia.

After landing in Papeete, Tahiti, each group assembled their kayaks and packed up for a week of true expedition paddling. Together, they crossed sheltered lagoons, explored tiny islets protected by ranging surf, camped at remote villages whose inhabitants welcomed them with open arms, and ate plenty of delicious traditional cuisine complete with entertainment, stories, and lifelong friendships.

For TRAK paddlers, this is what kayaking is all about: lifelong exploration, learning, and connection in places we simply couldn't reach without a packable sea kayak.

Real travel. Real adventure. Off the beaten path, where no one else can follow.

At Pingtan Wind Farm, the turbines were not the only things moving.

The sea had its own rhythm that day.

Wind on the surface.
Waves pushing back.
A coastline that looked cinematic from a distance - and a lot more alive once the paddle touched water.

This was a day trip in China, but not the soft, sightseeing kind.

🌋 MASSIVE props to TRAK paddler Ryan Bishman from the Pacific Northwest who just completed the race - a journey of more than 70 miles - in just 25 hours!

Two years ago, when Ryan set a goal to complete this race, he knew it would require a change in his equipment, skills, and endurance. Choosing the TRAK 2.0 ended up being a key part of that journey.

Since then, Ryan has trained consistently—paddling several times a week and building up both skill and endurance.

Here's what Ryan shared with us after completing the race:

"[The] boat has been a great partner throughout. It gave me the confidence to push longer distances and handle a wide range of conditions. What I’ve appreciated just as much is the support from your team. Anytime I’ve had questions or looked to upgrade components, you’ve been responsive and helpful.
