The goal is to train the athlete, not the sport.

Your specific weak points are the focus and then retesting to make sure you’re on the right track.

All your favourite grapplers lift and so should you.

Starting is great, but figuring out what exactly you need to work on is even better.

Supplements can be awesome but they’re rarely a huge direct game changer in isolation.

However, besides the lifting performance I think one of the best reasons to take creatine for any athlete right now is for the research that has come out/will continue to come out relate to its effects on fatigue and cognitive performance.. cool stuff!

Waiting for the “doodoo” comments 💩

The athlete always determines what we’re looking to improve, the sport they play determines what we don’t need to focus on.

What this means: Don’t get caught up in training that is way too sport specific. Sure, you probably want to work on certain qualities that are present in the sport you practice, but that doesn’t matter as much as the specific qualities YOU need to get better.

If you’re barely strong enough to lift a 20lbs dumbbell, it doesn’t really matter what the specific requirements of your sport are.
