We ❤️ our coaches!

Thank you for celebrating National Coaches week!

We have over 900 coaches in our Section and we want to take a moment and celebrate their leadership, dedication, and encouragement that makes a lasting difference in each of their athletes.

Did you know that the Hockey Assist Program (HAP) helps cover the full cost of registration for learn-to-skate programs like CanSkate?

Through KidSport Alberta and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, eligible families can get up to $750 per child to remove financial barriers to the ice.

If your child is ready to lace up their skates, now is the time to check it out. Visit our website to learn more and apply https://kidsportcanada.ca/alberta/grande-cache/

Feeling the pinch in the pocketbook this year? You’re not alone.

For a lot of families, extras like sports and activities are one of the first things to get cut when budgets get tight. We want to help make sure skating can still be an option for local kids.

This season, the Akasaka Figure Skating Club has been fortunate to receive funding through Every Kid Can Play, which has allowed us to reduce our registration fees.

When combined with the KidSport individual grant, you may be able to register a Pre-Can Skater or CanSkater for little to no cost this season.

Payment plans are also available through the club.

If you’ve been thinking about skating but weren’t sure if it would fit the budget, check out the link below to apply for the KidSport grant, then visit our website to register.
