🗑️⚾ Grande Cache Minor Baseball Association Fundraiser! ⚾🗑️

On Sunday our baseball crew traded bats and balls for garbage bags and gloves and spent 2 hours picking up trash at the dump — because apparently some are in baseball withdrawal so anything Cubs related: we’re in!

A few members of our crew had to leave before the photo, but together we earned $1,500 for Grande Cache Minor Baseball! 🙌⚾

And after two hours at the dump, we made some observations:

- Grande Cache eats A LOT of chips. Doritos and Tostitos seem to be particularly popular.

- Grande Cache also REALLY likes Amazon.

- Amazon might want to consider more biodegradable packaging… because plastic really does last forever!

- Insurance rates are expensive- eye opening for the teenagers. 😂

- more personal papers need to be shredded instead of garbaged. 👀

We may have judged Grande Cache’s garbage, but we made money doing it!

Thanks to everyone who came out and got dirty for the kids. ❤️⚾ And a big shout out to Chalet Foods for donating slushie coupons! The kids even got an extra coupon because they didn’t even complain while cleaning! 💙⚾️⚾️

Special thanks to the crew: Corey, Georgia, Theo, Olivia, Grandma Hampson, Sara, Angie, Reid, Brynley, Aurora, Alexa, Olivia, Logan, Paul, Emily, Aiden, Lindy, Abbey, Karina, Jaxon and Maddox!

Hey baseball families! It’s time to have a little celebration for the Cubs. What better way to spend the first day of school- to have your kids fed supper, and go home exhausted and straight to bed?!

The message will come through on your team chat, please let your managers know if your child will be there along with any non-baseball siblings who are welcome to join!

Check out the 11U A Cubs! They participated in the Baseball Alberta Provincial championships for tier 6.

They came out in 5th place. And no matter how each game ended, they smiled and laughed the ENTIRE TIME!

Work hard, kids. You never know where hard work will take you! Go Cubs! ⚾️💙

What an experience our Grande Cache Cubs girls had at the very first Female Zone Championship in Calgary! They represented Zone 8 and came short of the bronze medal, but played their hearts out.

The talent on the baseball fields this weekend was incredible! We are very proud as an association for the girls to come from Grande Cache to play their game. Adrianna, Alexa, Aurora, Brynley, Chessa, Emma and Olivia - way to go!!

Girls Baseball is about to be on fire in Alberta! Keep working hard girls, we can’t wait to see what next season brings!

This is the experience these kids have been waiting for. And while they didn’t win a game, they enjoyed the camaraderie and playing against other teams! They’ve been practicing hard and are excited for next weekend’s tournament!
