Tracking is one of those phases where there really isn’t anywhere to hide.

A club can provide fields, lay tracks, offer advice, troubleshoot problems, and spend countless hours helping a team develop, but ultimately, the handler is responsible for the training they put into their dog.

No club, helper, training director, or teammate can walk onto the trial field and track for you.

We can support each other, celebrate the good tracks, help dissect the bad ones, and offer every tool we have. But when things don’t go the way we hoped on trial day, accountability matters too.

Every one of us has walked off a field disappointed. Every one of us has had training holes exposed at some point. That’s dog sport. The productive response is to ask, “What do I need to do differently?” not “Who can I blame?”

Tracking takes consistency. It takes miles. It takes learning your dog, recognizing weaknesses, and putting in the work when nobody is watching.

Your club can support your journey.

They cannot do the journey for you.

Sometimes club members like to take each other's dog's out for a spin.
Here we have Michelle and Ari

The field may show one dog and one handler, but behind them stands an entire team.
The support, the encouragement, the spotting, filming, running toys, and simply showing up for one another.
The people who hold each other together through doubt, setbacks, and the days the goal feels impossible.
No one gets there alone. 🤍
