This past weekend at the Ringette BC Annual AGM, Wayne Wong was awarded the Senior Official of the Year for the 2025/2026 season!

Our Vice President, Aaron Heck and Social Media Manager, Taylor Kraus were honoured to accept this on Wayne's behalf.

After many years as a highly respected and successful coach, Wayne took on a new challenge in officiating and has quickly become a knowledgeable, consistent, and well-respected official within our sport. His experience as a coach shines through in the way he communicates with athletes, coaches, and fellow officials, always demonstrating professionalism, kindness, and respect. Wayne is especially valued for the support and encouragement he provides to younger officials, helping them build confidence while ensuring they continue to enjoy the game and grow in their roles. His commitment to learning, willingness to accept feedback, and dedication to the officiating community make Wayne Wong a truly deserving recipient of this award.
Thank you Wayne for your endless contribution to our association, we truly appreciate you!

Here are our 2025/2026 Ringette Season Award Recipients!
Our association thrives because of the commitment, generosity, and support of our volunteers. ❤ Thank you to everyone who gives their time, works behind the scenes, and helps keep KRA strong. From coaching and organizing to supporting athletes and families, your efforts mean so much. ✨

Junior Volunteer – Brooklyn Allan
Brooklyn dedicates countless hours to planning events like Come Try Ringette, Springette, Santa Skate, coaching young players, assisting zone teams, and stepping in wherever needed. You can always count on seeing her at the rink! Her positive spirit, generosity, and leadership make a lasting impact on our association. Thank you, Brooklyn!

Adult Volunteer of the Year – Dina Fiset-Kinzel
This award is proudly presented to Dina for her outstanding organization, reliability, and commitment to KRA. As our secretary and a constant supporter of events, Dina plays a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Her care and willingness to help make a meaningful difference. Thank you, Dina!

Longevity in Sport – Andrea Cook
Andrea’s ringette journey with KRA began at just 11 years old, and her love for the sport has never faded. From competing at Westerns in 2008 to returning after college and family life, Andrea continues to give back as both a goalie and coach. Her lifelong dedication, love for the game, and commitment to young athletes make her truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Andrea!

Team of the Year – U14 Kraken
The U14 Kraken showed incredible effort, growth, and teamwork all season long. With Silver at Autumn Blast, Silver at Sweetheart, and Gold at Club Provincials, their season was unforgettable. Their unity, resilience, and bond both on and off the ice made this team truly special. Awesome job, Kraken!

Rookie of the Year - Scarlett Wilson
Scarlett was a first-year player whose enthusiasm and growth made an immediate impact. Her hard work, positive attitude, and love for the game made her standout in their very first season!

Last call to register for the AGM Dinner Banquet. Deadline is April 19th at midnight.

We will have draws throughout the AGM and awards portion of the evening for special Door prizes including a random draw to win a free registration for the 2026-2027 season.

Your attendance at our Annual General Meeting helps us to secure a Community Gaming Grant. Each year we apply for funding and the past few years we have received in excess of $35,000. These gaming funds help to offset the cost of ice rentals for games and practices. As part of the Gaming Grant application we are required to provide the number of attendees to show that we have an engaged membership. Your attendance will make a difference!

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

6:00 pm - Arrival at the venue 6:30 pm - Buffet Dinner served 7:30 pm - Annual general meeting and awards ceremony (entertainment for the young ones will be provided during the AGM meeting).

KRA will subsidize more than half the cost of the dinner & banquet for attendees to maintain a low ticket price. Pricing is as follows:
$20 - Adults $10 - Children under 13 Free - 5 and under
