Love this. We can all do our part to move towards better autism acceptance and appreciation.

Love this. We can all do our part to move towards better autism acceptance and appreciation.

April is Autism Appreciation Month, and we’re proud to celebrate the autistic community.

For many years, the conversation around autism focused on awareness and later acceptance. Awareness helped people recognize autism. Acceptance encouraged communities to include autistic people. Both were important steps forward.

But today, many in the autism community are embracing a new word: appreciation.

Appreciation goes further. It recognizes that autistic people bring unique strengths, perspectives, creativity, and ways of thinking that enrich our communities. It’s not just about knowing autism exists or even accepting it. It's about valuing and celebrating neurodiversity.

This month, we celebrate autistic individuals for who they are and the many ways they contribute to our world. We also recognize the families, allies, educators, employers, and community members working together to create spaces where autistic people can thrive.

Let’s move beyond awareness.
Let’s move beyond acceptance.

Let’s choose appreciation.💙
