Hello UofA Tennis Alumni, Friends and Families,

This Thursday, March 26, is an excellent time to donate to Golden Bears and Pandas Tennis! It's UofA Giving Day and starting at 8am, the first $100,000 of donations made to UofA groups will be matched. Although any amount can be donated, only the first $1000 will be matched until the matching funds are depleted.
Where should gifts be made? All gifts must be made through the official Giving Day site to qualify for matching.

Click on 'Donate Now' and select 'See More Options'.

Select: Support the Sport Golden Bears Tennis Fund or Support the Sport Pandas Tennis Fund

Golden Bears Tennis Alumni Get-Together

Hi Bears Tennis Alumni,

Hope everyone is doing well! We would like to invite you to a casual & fun Bears Tennis Alumni night on Friday, February 20th at Saville Dome and Saville Balmoral lounge. The goal is get Alumni and current players out on court to have some fun and then have some pizza and drinks afterwards. (Alumni and coaches only. We will run a kids event down the road.)

From 6pm-8pm we have the whole Saville Dome booked off, so you can come hit some balls with current players or each other. We will play some games/coach fed drills like quick doubles, team games, approach shot games, rush & crush etc... Afterwards, at 8pm, we will go upstairs to the Saville lounge for some pizza and drinks. (free pizza covered by the team!!)

Let us know if you can make it so we know numbers for hitting/games as well as for pizza. Even if you can't make it for the whole time, please let us know if you'd like to hit some balls or just stop by for some pizza and to say hi.

Just one last reminder about our Alumni tennis event this Sunday, September 28th from 2-6pm. Please register on the Google Form or shoot us an Email at [email protected]. A reminder that it's family friendly and although the tennis courts will be available for hits, drills & competition, many will only be there to socialize. Food and drinks will be provided.

Hello Golden Bears and Pandas Tennis Alumni,

Although May 13 is the official GIVING DAY, donations are open today to support Golden Bears and Pandas tennis.
What is Giving Day? A fundraising campaign to rally support for Golden Bears & Pandas Athletics and unlock matching funds.

What is the match? This year, there is $100,000 in matching funds available. Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar (up to $2,500 per donation) while matching funds last.

When can people give? Early giving opens April 29. Donations made between 12 AM April 29 - 11:59 PM on May 13 are eligible for matching.

WEEKEND RECAP 🐼🎾🏆

Pandas Tennis defeated the UBC Thunderbirds 6-1 in the Western Canadian Final to advance to the National Championships in August. The Pandas now hold a 6-1 record this season heading into the Nationals

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the team 🐼🎾 The energy was exciting and incredibly fun to play in! Another great battle from both teams this weekend

WEEKEND RECAP 🐻🎾

The Golden Bears lost a close battle 3-4 to the defending National Champions the UBC Thunderbirds. It was a battle to the end. Both teams left it all on the court

Some highlights from the weekend:

First year had a dominating undefeated season playing #1 singles and #1 Doubles (8-0)

First year was undefeated in doubles at #1, and had an undefeated record in playoffs this season

3 matches this weekend went to three sets, Prashant, James, and Jun. Jun had a great battle against former Golden Bears Captain and #1 player Kiran Phaterpekar. James battled back to win after losing the first set, giving the Bears a chance to win it all. Prashant left it all on the court in the final thrilling match of the weekend

The Bears finished the season with a 5-2 record overall. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the match, and for your continued support of the Golden Bears 🐻🎾
