🐉 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 🐉

Two events, one weekend — and Sunday's Chinatown Summer Festival was the perfect way to finish it.

🥁 Our Dragon Team took to 97 Street for the parade, and the crowd lining the route made it something special. Drums, lions, colour, and people leaning in from every doorway and corner to watch. Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered — you carry us.

🙏 Sincere thanks to the organizers for the invitation and for putting on a festival that fills these streets with life. Between the parade, the mural reveal 🎨, the cultural performances, the food trucks and the kids running between the bouncy castles with popcorn in hand 🍿 — Chinatown was exactly what it should be on a summer Sunday.

To our students who performed all weekend: two days, back to back, and you brought it both times. Proud of you. ❤️

🐉 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹! 🐉

Saturday at William Hawrelak Park was everything we hoped it would be and then some. Huge thanks to the Edmonton Hongkongers Association for inviting us out and for putting on such a beautifully run event. 🙏

☀️ The weather was gorgeous, the park was packed, and the crowd was warm and generous from the first beat of the drum. 🥁 Our Dragon Team, our kung fu and weapons demonstrations, and our skit all got the kind of energy back from the audience that performers dream about. Cheers, laughter, kids up front with their eyes wide. Thank you for that. 👏

🍜 And the food. The sights, the sounds, the smells drifting across the whole site all afternoon — a genuine delight to the senses.

To our students who performed and to the families who came out to support them: you made us proud. ❤️

One weekend, two events. After today's Hong Kong Carnival, Chiu Lau Kung Fu College is heading to Edmonton's Chinatown on Sunday — our Dragon Team will be performing as part of the parade.

Fantastic job to the Chiu Lau Dragon Team representing at the Oilers game last week to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The Sifus are very proud of all of your training, teamwork and kung fu spirit ! Keep up the training into the Year of the Snake! Many blessings to you all !!

The Chiu Lau Kung Fu Dragon Team will be performing tonite at Rogers Arena for the Lunar New Year Edmonton Oilers game. See you on the concourse at 6pm before the puck drop (or on your TV!). LET'S GO OILERS !
