OCC’s Spring Learn to Paddle event was a success! Thank you to our new paddlers for letting us introduce dragon boat racing to you! Thank you to our coaches (Tai & Ben), to our steers (Chris & Jenny) and to our team members for helping out!

Special thanks to the Leduc Boat Club (we miss you Amanda!) for providing the equipment and to our wonderful board for organizing the event.

SPRING DRAGONBOAT TRAINING CAMP

SATURDAY MAY 2 - 10am-4pm at Leduc Boat Club
FEE: $80 (bring your own lunch) & get a $30 credit if you join our team before end of May 2026

Join our Coach Tai as she gives all participants skills to sharpen as we start the season off right! This training will cover both land and water activities. We’ll go out in the boat in the morning for an hour to review and practice skills. Then, we’ll go to the boat club for lunch and video review of each paddler. Afterward, we’ll return to the boat for an hour in the afternoon so you can practice the feedback you received. All skill levels are welcome (brand new to experienced) as this always about improving your paddline. Bring your lunch (nut and coconut free) and a water bottle!

This is your chance to sit in a dragonboat, get on the water and paddle. Our Coach & team will guide everyone on necessary paddle technique, boat loading and unloading procedures & introduce you to a sport you may just get addicted to—this is your warning. If you want to see what all the hype and fun is about, come learn to paddle with us. PFDs and paddles are provided, just bring clothing and shoes that are easy to move in and can get wet and a water bottle.
