FAMILY TRAIL DAY THIS SUNDAY!!

Our Sunday trail day is still pretty light on volunteers, so we're turning it into a bit of a Family Trail Day.

Josh is bringing his kids, and if you've been looking for a chance to get the family involved in building the Edmonton Bike Park, this is a great opportunity.

We'll be focusing on lighter trail work and getting more of the park cleaned up, shaped and ready for riders. No trail-building experience is needed — we'll show you what to do.

Bring the kids, bring a friend, or just come lend a hand yourself.

It's a pretty cool thing to be able to say:

"I helped build that."

Please bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, water, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Parents/guardians should supervise younger volunteers and help choose tasks appropriate for them.

Very cool to see the Edmonton Bike Park featured in Edify Edmonton today! 🚲

This project has been more than 20 years in the making, and it has only become a reality because of the people who believed in it, advocated for it, donated to it and — most importantly — showed up to help build it.

Thousands of volunteer hours have gone into creating a place where riders of all ages and abilities can learn, progress and enjoy mountain biking right here in the heart of Edmonton’s river valley.

There’s still work ahead of us, but it’s pretty incredible to look back at how far this community-built project has come.

Thanks to Edify Edmonton and Kristina Felker for telling the story — and to every volunteer who has put a shovel in the ground along the way. 💚

THE GRAND OPENING IS MOVING TO SPRING 2027. THE RIDING ISN’T. 🚵

After more than seven weeks of weather-related construction delays, we’ve made the call to move the official Edmonton Bike Park Grand Opening to late May or early June 2027.

It’s been an unbelievably wet construction season, and while the park has come a long way, getting absolutely everything finished this year is no longer realistic.

We could rush.

We’re not going to.

Our volunteers and contractors deserve the time to finish this properly — and Edmonton deserves the best bike park we can build.

The good news?

You won’t have to wait until the Grand Opening to ride it.

Trails and features will open progressively as they are completed, inspected and ready to go — just like the first two flow trails did last year.

And with a little more time to plan, we’re going to make the spring Grand Opening a proper celebration of the community that made this place possible.

Maybe even the first of an annual Edmonton MTB celebration. 👀

Construction continues.
Volunteer shifts continue.
More trails are coming.

See you out there.

Thank you all for your patience with the Edmonton Bike Park build!

It’s been a tough season for construction with constant rain and mud slowing things down. Despite having to cancel several volunteer shifts along the way, the crew has pushed through and made massive progress across the park:

Asphalt Pump Track: Huge strides are being made and it's coming together fast.

Flow Trails: Major progress on the dirt and features down into the valley.

Skills Area: Features are actively being built—and test riders will be needed soon!

Trail Openings: The Green and Blue trails just need a little love and will be open shortly!

We are adding new volunteer shifts weekly.

With the jumps getting up and running, we’re hosting volunteer-only riding sessions right after shifts wrap up.

NEW EVENING SHIFTS ADDED!

We heard from a lot of people who want to help but can’t make our daytime shifts — so we’ve added new evening volunteer shifts next week.

And this is going to be a fun one.

We’ll be working in the Green Skills Loops, building and installing new skills features, getting them dialled in, and yes — test riding them as we go.

This is the kind of work where you can come out for a few hours and actually see what you helped create by the end of the night.

No trail-building experience is required. We’ll show you what needs to be done and work together to get these features ready for riders.

Our daytime trail-building shifts are continuing as well, and we still need as many hands as we can get over the next few weeks.

If evenings work better for you, this is your chance to jump in.

Bring sturdy shoes, work gloves, water, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

We need you!

We need you!

EDMONTON, WE NEED YOUR HELP.

We're at a critical point in the Edmonton Bike Park build, and we need to be straightforward with everyone: we desperately need more volunteers.

The last several weeks have been tough. Low volunteer turnout, combined with repeated weather delays, has put us significantly behind where we need to be.

Our September 5 Grand Opening is now at serious risk.

We're looking at options, including potentially moving the opening to October 3, but that has not been confirmed. If we can't get enough people out to help complete the remaining work, there's also a real possibility that some of this gets pushed into next year.

That's not where we want this project to end up.

This park was always meant to be community-built.

Edmonton's mountain bike community asked for this park. Years of advocacy helped make it possible. Funding, professional contractors, the City and countless volunteer hours have brought us this far.

Now we need the community to help us finish it.

For the next three weeks, we're running trail-building shifts:

TUESDAY–FRIDAY
10:00 AM–2:00 PM

You don't need to be an experienced trail builder. We'll provide direction and show you what needs to be done.

If you've been thinking about volunteering "one of these days," this is the time.

Come for one shift. Come for several. Bring a riding buddy. Bring your riding group. Bring some friends.

Four hours from enough people could make an enormous difference.

We asked Edmonton to believe in this project. Now we're asking Edmonton to help us get it across the finish line.
