Edmonton Northern River Karate School The Northern River Yoga and Karate School is a world-class health and wellness program with classes in Yoga and Karate in a south Edmonton location (St.

Paul's Lutheran Church. The Northern River Karate and Yoga School began as a Karate school based in Edmonton. It has since grown to offer both traditional Karate classes as well as traditional Mysore Ashtanga Yoga classes. The school runs classes 3 times per week. Ken Read, an internationally recognized Karate teacher in the Uechi ryu style, has been overseeing the school since it's inception and

is in charge of the Karate curriculum. Yoga practices were always a part of the training curriculum and once the Karate school’s most senior student, Jennifer Bustin, completed her Yoga teacher certification the school added a separate schedule of Yoga classes. Many students participate in both programs. The quality of the programs are perhaps best illustrated by student longevity. Many students in the program have been coming to classes regularly for 10, 15, and even 20 years and more. The philosophy of the school is summed up in three words: Growth, Community, and Mastery. Our teachers and students are committed to healthy, life-long learning and are always open and excited to help others learn these traditional practices. Hello all! Thank you for being a part of our Association for all these years. After a lot of discussion, the board has decided to dissolve the Association effective July 1st, 2023. Ken & Jen remain teachers in the entity of Northern River Karate School, and we will still monitor this page for anyone interested in lessons.

Hello all!
The ENRYKSA board of directors had a productive meeting yesterday to discuss our opening strategy.
Thank you for continuing to be patient while we find the safest way to provide our teaching.

We are happy to announce we will be opening our doors for in-person classes in November. We are working out the details and making sure our space is available and safe for all to use.

Stay tuned for our opening protocols and covid safety measures. We are committed to a safe environment for everyone.

If you have any questions please let us know. We will make sure to have a thorough update before our first class. Check back before the end of October for more info!
