HLHS Sports Hockey Programs

HLHS is a summer hockey program that teaches the principles of team play. We are an instructional hockey school taught in a game format.

HLHS SPORTS was created in 1987 by our founder, Bob Hetherington. The program had started as an instructional hockey school, and has transformed into a hockey league format with hockey school principles still being taught. We focus on player development through instruction from our coaching staff teaching the principles of team play. They are "puck control", "positioning", "passing", and "transiti

on". Each game our instructors will go over either an offensive or defensive principle for players to demonstrate during our games. This makes our program very unique in that we teach hockey school fundamentals during game play. We also offer 1 on 1 goalie instruction at each game. All of this combined with playing music in stoppages, announcing goals, year end tournament and awards, playing with friends regardless of skill level, and scouted by the Alberta Wolfpack, makes us very distinctive. HLHS works with minor hockey players (boys/girls) from Initiation all the way up to Junior. Our goal as an organization is to provide player development in a fun yet competitive environment to help our youth to achieve their goals as hockey players. As an Edmonton native, Ryan has an intimate knowledge of the area and a strong desire to make his home your home.

He has run a successful hockey company for the past 15 years, where he filled various positions. Here he learned the art of being a strong negotiator, being responsive, and a great communicator, while working closely with numerous families and developing young athletes.

From a real estate standpoint, Ryan has worked as a sales manager for one of Edmonton's largest homebuilders, and has a post secondary education in Business and Marketing from N.A.I.T.

As a father of one, building unique rapports with each individual, or family is very important to him. Ryan is skilled at putting himself in the shoes of others to ensure collective success and connectivity.
