We need YOU!

EFHA is looking forward to the next season, and we are now collecting expressions of interest for those interested in volunteering with the organization. There are many roles, from governance matters to operations and ice, to social media and growth initiatives. We are also holding our first ever female hockey festival and tournament in the coming season, so will be looking also for individuals interested in forming a tournament organizing committee.

INTRODUCING our U13AA Edmonton Ice Head Coach for the 2025/2026 season, Kyle Nash!

Inspired by and grateful for his own incredible coaches throughout his wide-ranging hockey journey as a player (AAA, SwissDiv3, NZIHL), Kyle has undertaken an array of roles as coach over 8 years (U7-U15, female and integrated; Head and Assistant Coach; at EFHA, SWAT, EGHA, CONFED, Ice Crushers). Kyle’s approach to coaching is grounded by a simple love of the game and the value it brings; a philosophy that emphasizes joy in playing and growing in the game, becoming a team, and learning the significance of confidence earned through hard work and commitment. Based on this foundation, Kyle employs a player-centered approach that benefits each player in a way that is best for them; an approach that helps each player to become excited by their potential and sets clear goals and guideposts to reach it.

This approach is complemented by an emphasis on a team game that provides the bedrock for competitiveness, hockey IQ, and more creative and dynamic play. He leverages his background as a professor in psychology and neuroscience at the University of Alberta to both understand the value of staying a student of the game, one that never stops learning, and impart the value of support and belonging that elicits proactive and positive outcomes for the team and for the individual, both on the ice and outside the arena.
