The Edmonton Synchronized Skating Club has a long and proud history of representing Edmonton and Western Canada at the National and International Level. Formed in 1979, the club was home to the first synchronized skating team in Alberta and one of the first in Western Canada. The club is recognized throughout Canada for its excellence and outstanding achievements in synchronized skating. The Edmon

ton Synchronized Skating Club is home to five skating teams; Beginner, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Intermediate, Adult team, and a learn to skate program. Representing Edmonton, the City of Champions, the Edmonton Synchronized Skating Club provides skaters the opportunity to compete at a provincial, national and international level. Their primary goal is to have fun, grow as young athletes and succeed as team players.

We are coming up on year 3 of our Adult 1 team, and we couldn't be more excited! It's truly special to unite over your love for sport as an adult.

Skaters on the Adult 1 team are typically at a Star 8+ skills level, but no previous synchro experience is necessary. This team will be travelling to Mountain Regionals in BC this season, as well as attending local competitions.

We strongly believe that it's just more fun to skate together, and fun is what it's all about! Join the Ice Crystals Star 4 for the 2026-2027 season!

Skaters on the Star 4 team must have passed a Star 1 assessment, and continue to train their individual skills at least twice a week. The team focuses on developing strong foundations, introducing performance skills and the basics of sportsmanship and camaraderie!

The team will be competing in several competitions within Alberta, and we would love to welcome new skaters! Sign up for tryouts on May 20, or send us a message with any questions.

Tryouts for our Star 8 team are Thursday, May 21!

Star 8 is the entry point into competitive synchro in Edmonton, and we are hyper focused on honing skills and pushing performance to the next level.

Star 8 will be traveling to BC for Mountain Regionals, as well as attending local competitions. This team will train together twice a week, including strength and conditioning, and all skaters additionally train at least twice a week individually.

Star 8 is all about growth in all areas! We'd love to welcome new skaters to this team -- sign up for tryouts or send us a message with any questions!

Tryouts for our Star 6 team are almost here!!!

If you've been thinking about trying synchro, this is your sign! Adding synchro to your training boosts your performance and skating skills -- and let's face it, everything is more fun with friends!

Skaters on the Star 6 team are working on Star 3-5 Skills and are under 15 years of age. All skaters additionally train at least two days per week in addition to weekly synchro practices.

The Star 6 team will also be traveling to BC to compete at Mountain Regionals next January, in addition to attending local competitions.

Finally, we are beyond thrilled to recognize and celebrate Marie-Terez and Katrina Abou Rjeily, who have reached an impressive milestone of 10 years of skating with ESSC!

Both Katy and Marie have grown up as members of our club and become an integral part of our skating family. They've had the opportunity to skate on teams from Beginner all the way to Adult, and have now taken on the role of coaches for our Star 4 team, inspiring and guiding the next generation of skaters!

Their love and passion for synchronized skating shines so brightly, and we are truly honoured that they have chosen ESSC as their home and skating family for over 10 years. We've had the pleasure of watching them grow, learn, and thrive, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them! Kelsey first joined our club as part of the Learn-to-Skate program, where she took her first steps on the ice, and has since grown into an exceptional skater, becoming a valued member of both our Star 4 and 6 teams. Throughout her journey, Kelsey has consistently demonstrated an unwavering passion for synchronized skating, a passion that is simply contagious and inspiring to everyone around her. Her heart is truly one of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, and support her teammates in every way possible.
