I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this…
But I didn’t build my life or my brand on pretending.
So here it is.
After losing over 120lbs, multiple pregnancies, hernia repairs, years of lifting heavy, doing cardio, and putting in the work in 25 days, I’m having an FDL tummy tuck with muscle repair.
This isn’t about hating my body.
It’s actually the opposite.
I love my body enough to finish what I started.
I’ve rebuilt myself from the inside out.
Strong. Disciplined. Consistent.
But here’s the truth
No amount of core training can fully repair muscle separation.
No amount of fat loss removes excess skin.
And no amount of grit or discipline fixes recurring infections in my belly button from loose skin folds.
Add perimenopause into the mix hormones shifting, inflammation rising, recovery changing and I had to start training differently.
That’s where Pilates came in.
Shifting from a “lift heavy, push harder” mindset to a stabilization and deep-core connection focus has been a game changer. Pilates has helped me reconnect to my transverse abdominis, improve my posture, reduce joint pain, and build strength from the inside out.
It’s not just preparing me physically for surgery
It’s preparing my nervous system.
My breath.
My recovery.
The muscle repair portion of this surgery will bring my abdominal wall back together something pregnancy permanently altered. That’s about function, longevity, and protecting the strength I’ve worked so hard to build.
Strong women can lift heavy AND choose surgery.
Strong women can evolve their training.
Strong women can adapt in perimenopause instead of fighting it.
This is restorative.
This is intentional.
This is the final piece of a 10+ year transformation.
I’m nervous. I’m emotional. I’m excited.
Recovery will humble me.
And you know I’ll share the real version not just the highlight reel.
If you’ve ever felt shame for wanting to change something after babies, weight loss, or hormonal shifts…
You’re allowed to evolve.
M**F style — strong, honest, educated, and doing it my way. 🤍
