OLD R***E. NEW PURPOSE.
Not every r***e that comes through the shop needs to be replaced—and not every project needs to start with a box of new parts.
This older Tikka T3 chambered in .25-06 already had a solid foundation. It just needed some attention.
We stripped it down to the barreled action and went to work. The r***e received a new stock with custom action inletting, muzzle threading, trigger work, rust treatment, re-bluing of damaged areas, and a new scope and mount before being reassembled and tuned.
What came out the other side is still the same Tikka at its core—but it's been refreshed, modernized, and set up for many more seasons in the field.
Projects like this are one of the things I enjoy most about r***e work. Sometimes the right answer isn't replacing what you have. It's taking a good r***e, addressing its weaknesses, and making it fit the way you intend to use it.
