Mt. Waddington Outdoors Founded by Sam Waddington in 2012, Mt. Waddington Outdoors started with a clear mission: to provide the gear and expertise needed to explore the backcountry.

With stores in both Chilliwack and Whistler, we have become a trusted source for outdoor gear. Based in Chilliwack, we quickly became a trusted resource throughout the Fraser Valley and beyond. Early on, we began specializing in packrafts and have since become the largest distributor of packrafts in the world. We’re also the go-to location for resources on everything packrafting, trusted globally

by those seeking top-tier gear and expert advice. We’re committed to giving back to the environment and the community through efforts like our 1% for Chilliwack Trails Initiative, and by hosting workshops and events that bring people together. Our Mountain Town Series in Chilliwack has been a sell-out event every year, featuring incredible speakers like Marc-André Leclerc, Greg Hill, and John Baldwin. With our new Whistler store opening in Winter 2024 and a third Chilliwack location in 2025, we’re excited to continue offering quality gear, advice, and a sense of community across British Columbia. Our goal is to be the go-to destination for backcountry gear throughout the province.

Come on down to Chilliwack for an amazing community packrafting weekend with and 🌊

If you haven’t heard already, on May 29-30-31st join an amazing group of paddlers in Chilliwack, BC for a full weekend of river runs, skills training, gear demos, and more! A great opportunity to meet new friends, get inspired for new trips, and try new gear.

This year, camping is included so we can all hang out at camp together! This year will also include more clinics and smaller group sessions all weekend and evening events to keep the vibes high.

Have you heard the new Cascades Rock book is out!?

Blake Herrington has written a super new and improved second edition of this climbing guide book for the Cascade mountains.

The second edition is much longer than its predecessor and more detailed. There are many new routes, QR code integration, more accurate details of terrain, pitch and rappel lengths, and gear.

There’s a good chapter on SWBC at the back of the book, and many areas are also really close to the border and easily accessed for those of us the Fraser Valley.

Adventure Racing hall of famer James Galipeau is presenting our next installment of the Mountain Town Series in Chilliwack.

Join us at our Sasquatch alley store in Chilliwack for a 2-hour clinic on all things Adventure racing presented by James Galipeau.

• The tales of participating at the 2025 Adventure Racing World Championship: a 10-day, 800km non-stop race through BC’s wilderness. Videos, pictures, and stories to share.
• How to get started in adventure racing
• Gear, clothing, training, nutrition, teamwork, and more
• Racing logistics and strategies

About James Galipeau:
James has been competing in Adventure races for over 20 years, raced in more than 40 expedition-length races, over 50 shorter distance races, and he has podiumed 5 times in the World Series. In 2023, he was inducted into the Adventure Racing World Series Hall of Fame. Most recently, his team finished 12th overall at the 2025 Adventure Racing World Series Championship here in BC.
