“How are you?”
“I’m good. Things are busy, but I’m fine.”
How often do we say that when it isn’t really true?
I think many of us feel like we have to be okay. There are people who depend on us, things that need to get done, and it can feel really hard to say, “Actually, I’m not okay.”
But we aren’t always going to be flourishing. Sometimes we’re struggling, moving through a transition, or just having a challenging time. And that’s okay.
The sooner we can admit that to ourselves, the sooner we can begin to notice what we need. And we don’t have to wait until we’re okay to reach out for support.
That’s what I’ll be talking about at The Embodied Woman Summit, a free online event for women 35+.
My live session is called I’m Not Okay: Letting Go of the Pressure to Be Fine, and I’ll be sharing it on Tuesday, November 10 at 10 a.m. ET.
We’ll also do a grounding practice together, because we can talk about these things in theory, but it feels different when we actually do them.
The summit runs November 9–15. The registration link is in my bio. There are some amazing women speaking alongside me!
