International Racer

International Racer IR was set up to give athletes an option outside the club system. IR operates in 5 different countries

Clubs can limit serious athletes and generally have limited resources and options for dedicated athletes. To create accessibility to top level training facilities and to develop world class training programs. IR has been set up by industry professionals who wanted to give ski racers:
- A high volume training program for serious athletes
- A program focused on long term development…no short cuts

- A program designed to seamlessly integrate schooling and skiing through a centralized management framework and consistent communication between the coaching staff and teacher(s)
- A holistic program focused on the development of the ‘whole’ athlete (physical, psychological, technical, tactical, ancillary, social, emotional, scholastic)
- Training and racing in tech and speed disciplines

We leave nothing to chance in an effort to provide the best possible opportunities, motivation and support networks.
- best possible coaches
- access to first class training facilities
- predictable service in costs and structure over traditional camps
- exposure to mentoring opportunities with elite athletes
- exposure to multi national athletes
- access to training facilities in Europe, Scandinavia, Canada, Australia and Chile
An unwavering commitment to develop fundamental skills that will hold up in any situation.

We were fired up for the NZL NJC GS Cardrona Alpine Resort , but this was not meant to be (due to weather). Plan B was a drilling and up skilling type of day Coronet Peak Ski Area (not such a bad plan B…)

Cold Water Immersion🧊 ❓Quality recovery modality or recovery trap?❓

Cold water immersion can be a great recovery tool — but when you use it matters.

After hard training or racing, cold water can help:
• Reduce muscle soreness
• Improve the feeling of recovery
• Help athletes feel fresher for the next session
• Manage recovery when the turnaround between sessions is short

But there’s a catch…

Regular cold-water immersion immediately after strength and power training may reduce some of the adaptations we’re actually training for — particularly muscle growth and strength development.

Our approach:
🧊 Use it strategically during heavy training and competition periods when rapid recovery is the priority.
🏋️ Avoid making it an automatic habit after strength sessions when adaptation is the priority.

Recovery isn’t about doing everything. It’s about doing the right thing at the time.
