Summer Off the Ice ☀️🥌 | Sarah

With curling season on the horizon, we thought we’d share a little of what everyone has been up to off the ice this summer!

Starting with Sarah, who has been spending lots of time outside! ☀️ Hiking, camping, paddle boarding and even fitting in some puppy yoga. 🐶 She’s also been keeping busy with work and spending time with friends and family.

As we get closer to being back at the rink, Sarah is looking forward to getting on the ice with our new group and seeing what we can accomplish together this year. 🥌

There’s a new voice behind the glass this season! 🥌

We’re very excited to officially welcome Wayne Chyz, aka “Coach Dubya” to Team McNamee!

Wayne brings roughly 20 years of his own curling experience to our team, along with a thoughtful, analytical approach that already feels right at home with this group. His goal as a coach is simple: help each of us become the best curlers we can be, while making sure we’re still having fun along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful that Wayne has chosen to volunteer his time, knowledge and energy to our team this season. Competitive curling asks a lot of the people who support us too, and having someone willing to invest in our goals alongside us means more than we can say. 💙

And we’re already learning there’s plenty to know about the man behind Coach Dubya. 😂 He’s a meticulous planner, believes the best road-trip coffee is a Shell French Vanilla cappuccino, would happily head back to Crete, Greece or Costa Rica, and has a playlist firmly rooted in the 60s through 90s.

Oh, and he used to bumper ride Edmonton city buses in the winter as a teenager… but we’ll let him explain that one. 🚎

We’re looking forward to a season of learning, competing, laughing and seeing what we can accomplish together.

Last but not least... Kaylee McNamee! 🥌

Kaylee brings determination, positivity, and a thoughtful approach to Team McNamee. She’s always looking for ways to improve, believes the little details can make a big difference, and is happiest helping build a team that genuinely enjoys competing together.

Off the ice, you’ll usually find her fostering rescue dogs, planning her next trip to Italy, or enjoying a hot coffee with way too much cream while Ella Langley is on repeat. ☕🐶🇮🇹

With more than 20 years of curling experience, Brontë brings confidence and passion to the team. She’s fiercely competitive, always has her teammates’ backs, and isn’t afraid to challenge us to be our very best.

Off the ice, you’ll usually find Taylor Swift on repeat, an iced chai in hand, and dreaming about a future trip to Japan or Italy. And if Jeff Probst is reading this... we’re still rooting for that Survivor callback. 😉🏝️
