This page was shut down/closed in April, 2018. As you can see there have been no posts since then. This site can still be viewed but it is an interest only page. Feel free to browse at videos or photos but Team Bernard will not be responding to any messages or requests. I had thought that we had made that clear back in April, 2018 but I guess not clear enough. Thank you.

Hi folks, Bill here...the other half of the Val/Bill team that has brought you this page. Like Val said, it’s time to say goodbye. It’s rather sad for me, like losing an old friend. Cheryl and I first became acquainted in 1996 while Cheryl was competing in the Scott Tournament of Hearts. Cheryl and her team lost the final to Marilyn Bodogh and her team, 7-4. Cheryl and I soon became good friends despite her being in Calgary while I was in Toronto. Over the years there were lots of ups and downs. Lots of happy moments and sad ones too. I finally got to meet Cheryl and her team for the first time many years later. It was at the Sun Life tournament in 2009 in Paris, Ontario. That was a thrill for me. Cheryl had no idea I would be there. It was a real treat to meet the team and Cheryl was exactly like I knew she would be.
The next highlight came a month later in Edmonton at the Roar of the Rings where Team Bernard beat Team Kleibrink 7-6 in the final. It was a tense last end victory as Cheryl’s last rock finally stopped in time to score the winning point. With this victory, Team Bernard qualified for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. As most of you know, Cheryl and her team won the silver medal there, losing the final to Team Sweden. I think that silver medal has seen more miles than any other medal as Cheryl proudly displays it everywhere she goes. Team Bernard went on to win the Players Championship that year as well.
Cheryl announced her retirement in 2014. Not one to remain idle, Cheryl has devoted much of her time to charitable organizations. After being invited by TSN as a guest analyst at the 2014 Canada Cup of Curling, Cheryl has remained with the TSN team. Cheryl, Vic and Russ have provided great commentary since then. Cheryl was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall Of Fame in 2016.
I’m not sure what’s next on Cheryl’s agenda but anyone that can climb Mount Kilimanjaro can do pretty much whatever they want to. I’m proud to say that Cheryl is my friend.
I would be remiss if I didn’t express my thanks to Val for all her assistance over the years and to Cris for her artistic contributions.
I’d like to thank Cheryl for her friendship and to her teammates for all the thrills along the way.
Last but not least, Cheryl, Val and I would like to thank the fans who have supported Cheryl, Team Bernard and this page. Without your support this wouldn’t have been possible, so a big shout out to the fans!

It is time for Team Bernard’s page to sign off.I am sure Cheryl would agree to say that Team Bernard was not just Cheryl...

It is time for Team Bernard’s page to sign off.

I am sure Cheryl would agree to say that Team Bernard was not just Cheryl, but a bunch of great women that through the years, left some wonderful memories to the curling fans. I had the incredible chance to be part of this team for a short period of time and it happened in the most surprising ways. It allowed me to have some amazing memories of my own with Team Bernard and co.

I must thank Cheryl for the trust she put in me to manage Team Bernard’s social media for 4 years, you are sure one of a kind! Thanks to Cris, who jumped in the adventure with me then to build a new website for the team, you are amazing! Bill, you are the root of the Team Bernard page and that adventure wouldn't have been possible without you, I can never thank you enough. Thanks to all the women, and coaches that had been part of Cheryl's team at one point or another, but also, thanks to the fans, who have been following the page even after Cheryl had retired from Curling.

Maybe we should have closed it out 4 years ago, but it’s time now! Team Bernard, thanks for the Memories!

That was Val, that very much enjoyed the ride.

Lucky me.

For the very few that fail to understand the concept of this page, let me clarify this page. I started this page for Cheryl, a good friend of mine, and her team long before the 2010 Winter Olympics. Therefore, this is why it's a Team Bernard page. This is not a "Team Homan" page. Yes, Cheryl has joined Team Homan after receiving a call from Rachel Homan. If you want to follow Team Homan then go to their page and join as I did. Then you can follow both and keep up to date. I don't have the time or the patience to explain every time someone doesn't understand that this is the "Team Bernard" page and not some other page. This page is not intended to disparage Team Homan in any way. I have been a fan of theirs for years and am a friend of the person at PINTY'S who is their major sponsor. This page is intended to be a fun and informative page. No more...no less. I won't put up with BS or nonsense. I have removed one person so far and this was posted this morning. Ron Coffin "It's not team Bernard it's team HOMAM" Aside from the poor spelling, I sense that Ron hasn't grasped the concept either. Goodbye Ron. I'd also like to say that 95% of the posts are put there by me (Bill) The odd time Cheryl will post some things too. Most of my info comes from Cheryl so please enjoy the page and try not to cause me any grief. I do have a short fuse and the pay for doing this is lousy! lol

April Finch has been removed from this page. I will not tolerate disparaging remarks. I don't have the time for it. This is a page about Cheryl and her former team. If one isn't happy with the posts etc.. feel free to leave. As I said, I don't want any BS on this page. Thanks.
