Soar Round 5
Better late than never.....
Chase once again had to carry the full weight of the teams hopes and dreams... and as usual, did not disappoint.
Dominating the Vintage class, and another win on his plate, Chase also sent-it for the Pro Open Sprint race and finished 6th... an incredible accomplishment, especially given that these two classes run back to back! Imagine the endurance it takes to race a full race, win it, then roll back to the pits, jump on another bike, and go right back out and try to keep pace with some of the fastest riders in the SOAR family....
Great job Chase!!! Stay tuned!

Round 4 Race report - better late than never edition....

Round 4 was a singular affair for Muppet Racing! Amy & Omar are on the injured list & Brock opted to spectate as his dislike of the track configuration outweighed his desire to race.....
No need to feel sorry for Chase- thinking he's lonely - as is true to form for the team we adopted several "Honorary Muppets" this season, who kept the muppet pit vibe alive.... Congratulations to alex.ray10 & ... there are no prizes except maybe a t-shirt if you play your cards right. Our "seasoned" honorary Muppets and can vouch for the quality....of the shirts.....

Chase had Vintage and Pro Open Sprint back to back for both qualifying and racing. Chase knew the name of the game was endurance..... Bringing home the checkered in vintage meant the tanks were fairly depleted for Pro open, but we're proud of the solid 6th place finish!

More racing to come this weekend at Round 5... Chase will again be riding solo, but supported - by his teammates...
Lets go Racing!!!

Race report Round 3
(The way way late edition)

Muppet racing, is down a couple muppets!

Many of you may know - Amy had a stellar get off round 2 in the wet - and if you follow along - you might also know she had 2 more "incidents" round 3 (July 25-27). Fridays Practice incident resulted in a minor fracture of the right wrist -that was so minor Amy didn't even notice. It was practice, a situation evolved where a choice was made to either hit the grass & pray, or be collected in bad decisions - grass won. The bike wasn't bad, Amy was sore but in good spirits, a couple borrowed parts & we went racing the next day!
Which was a mistake.....
3 laps in Amy - crashed. She has no memory of what occurred, it is suspected she finally got fast enough to worry about the dog leg kick - video from fellow riders seems to corroborate. She was transported to hospital, 20 broken ribs, sternum, scapula, traumatic brain injury, lung bleeds - fairly significant injuries. Amy is done racing for the season, healing slowly and will continue to support Muppet Racing though the rest of the 2025 season.

Omar, Brock & Chase carried on round 3 & with Chase waving the checkered once again in Vintage class.

Monday after round 3 the boys stayed to do a Ride42 track day while Amy rested on her laurels in London General.....
This is when Omar decided, one Muppet injured was just not dramatic enough.....

Scraping the husky along the pavement, and tearing muscle from bone has left Omar out for the season as well.

Stay tuned for the Round 4 report coming & racing this weekend with Round 5!!!

Thanks to all who've checked in and messaged Amy!
She has absolutely zero recall as to what happened. She thinks she took the bars to the chest, as indicated by her injuries....all top 5 ribs broken, clavicle and lower shoulder (scapula), wrist turns out to be broken from fridays get off and she has had a brain bleed which means she will be in hospital for a few days. The last thing she recalls is being passed by Christine, the waking up hours later icu...

She is grateful to have so many people checking in and will try to respond to each in due time.
Photos may take a bit to get processed... stay tuned!

Muppet Racing Team SOAR Round 2
The "thank gawd that's over with" edition....

Screaming Alien.... at least 50% of muppets do not approve! came and supported the team but chose not to ride this configuration.

had a great qualifying effort, and is destroying his previous PB's every time he goes out.... Finishing 9th of 23 with an impressive and steady 1.09 pace

Amy and Chase had a much different result.

qualifier was under wet conditions... not raining, but a puddle laiden track, which was drying quickly... the call was made to go for rains... Amy had been out before in much wetter weather and was confident she could do well. Perhaps a bit overconfident. First lap, running in 4th setting up to make a pass..... it did not end well. There is video coming soon.
westmoreland qualifier started well and ended up in much the same fashion, sliding across the pavement and dirt.

Race Day was a quiet affair.... the 45+ temperatures were simply too risky for the team to try and ride with fresh injuries and mental distractions.

Many thanks to our sponsors.

Oh the highs and lows of the first round of the season....
Friday was predicted to be cold and miserable, so Brock and Amy sat out practice from the comfort of home.. Chase and Omar set up the digs and waited...
Saturday dawned just as frigid, but dry at least, so the team got to practicing. The mechanical gremlins reared their ugly heads again, just as they had for practice weekend... Chase's bike was acting fuel-staved. After checking it all over, it was determined a rebuild was in order, so no Pro600 this weekend. To make up for that, chase REALLY sent it in Pro Open sprint, finishing 5th, just behind seasoned CSBK pro- racers.
Omar spent the weekend getting more acquainted with his duke and getting his times down. He had a good run in Bott Heavyweight, and he and Brock duked it out Sunday in AM legends. Brock had him for several laps, but Omar passed him back one last time just prior to the checkered!!
Due to poor planning, Amy started tail of the grid in Femme on Saturday, and really wasn't feeling very spicy after a cold and damp practice session. The bug caught after a stellar launch gaining her almost half the grid by turn one.... Qualifying 4th was certainly above where she expected to finish. Sunday's race was a hard fought battle to the end! With all the good-start joo-joo used up, by turn one Amy was 7th and losing ground. Working hard, by half way she was battling for 4th with Amy got her into turn one with the ole banana peel move.... But Kelly pulled a daring outside pass back into one just a few laps later to take it back....it was a great battle, that felt good after a long winter! With 2 laps to go, Amy's endurance was failing, and she finished the race in 5th. Muppet Racing Team, overall, had a "heading in the right direction" kind of weekend and we're looking forward to the battles to come!

Thank you to our sponsors

It was most definitely a cluster of a practice day for Muppet Racing Team...
Despite some electrical gremlins, was finding his groove.
was sidelined most of the day waiting on parts, then just as the bike got sorted, she realized she brought 2 right boots and no lefts... Instead of bringing both pair!! Duuuh.... Huge shout out to for the assist -loaning a boot... Probably the most ridiculous request you've had in a while.
arrived late afternoon due to work commitments, but had a couple sessions on bike to shake the cobwebs.westmoreland has gasket issues with one bike.. a face full of gas does not meet safety... Then proceeded to sendit a bit too hard into one and cartwheeled the other... Parts are on the way... Should be good for day two..

Would it even be a race weekend without some f**kery??? New trailer tires (to replace the 6m old ones that mysteriously cracked), missing battery, clogged throttle bodies, electrical gremlins....
Some of us are waiting on parts delivery to finally send it today.....

Soar 6 & 7 Race report Part 4 – The Final Race
Better late than never?

Chase was well situated in both his classes for podium finishes as well as championship points. AM Superbike was the 5th race of the day… Chase started in 2nd , finished 2nd & ended the season in 2nd overall… earning his Pro status for 2025… not too shabby.

The final race, the 7th race of the day Vintage… Brock & Chase were both up.
Having 1 race out on track between his 2 scheduled races, Chase hydrated, rested & tried to remain calm for those 15 minutes… Starting on the grid in 2nd he knew what he had to do.
It was a 2 bike race right from the start… 2 competitors turn after turn, lap after lap. Swapping positions with some predictability, the carousel, dog-leg & front straight were dominated by chase… crossing the finish line in 1st place on 7 occasions & he ran the fastest lap of the race.
Lap # 9 of 10
Coming off the back stretch into the carousel there was a “Racing Incident”.
This resulted in a significantly damaged motorcycle & broken foot for Chase.

Brock came home in 5th place, in the race & the championship, a great showing in his first year on the GSXR

Muppets were raised well … if you don’t have anything good to say – don’t say it… so we wont. We will say – s**t happens, that’s racing & we as a team, rode our asses off!

We are extremely proud of all our Team members. We had an incredibly satisfying season. We would like to thank our sponsors for their support & look forward to continued relationships for 2025

Stay tuned 2025 season reports coming!!

Soar 6 & 7 Race report Part 3 – Fortune & Failure
Better late than never?
Sunday…. Last race day of the 2024 season…

Omar started 8th in LW Superbike & held his ground, finishing the race & the season in 8th A great season, improving all along the way….
Brock started the last Vintage race in 5th place & finished the race & the season also in 5th a great showing in his first year on the GSXR

Amy started the grid in 3rd – having lost a championship position the day before.
Riding a borrowed honda, after blowing up her Kawi, was like riding a camel in a lake…. Feeling completely foreign, hard to handle & slow as… she was nervous & anxious, knowing she had to just throw a leg over & send it!
It ended up being some of the best racing she had done all season. Off her regular pace by 3-5 seconds, she had #171 Angela & #414 Jessica nipping at her heals every corner & making serious attempts to pass every lap. Throwing the honda into the carousel deeper than anyone thought possible, she held them off. #171 finally got by her on lap 8, but heading into lap 9 Amy took it back… knowing if she gave up her 4th running place it would be all over for the championship…. Then it happened…. With 1 lap to go, relegated to 5th… Amy saw the seasons efforts dissipate… she hung in there for the 5th place finish. As disappointed as she felt at the outcome – it was offset by the adrenaline of the tightest, most competitive racing she had done all season. Determined NOT to be a sore loser, she congratulated her opponents, and settled in believing she had finished 4th overall for the season.
It wasn’t until that afternoon, with only 3 races left for the day, that she looked at the point standings…. Math never being Amy’s strong suit – she actually did pull off 3rd place over all by ONE POINT!!

Stay tuned for our Final Report of the 2024 racing action!
