President's Remarks β Shri O.P. Jindal Memorial Boxing Tournament
Distinguished guests, representatives of Jindal, community leaders, coaches, officials, boxers, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.
On behalf of the Botswana Boxing Association, I warmly welcome you to the Shri O.P. Jindal Memorial Boxing Tournament. We are honoured to celebrate the enduring legacy of Shri O.P. Jindalβa visionary whose commitment to community development continues to inspire us today. We also proudly join our Indian brothers and sisters in celebrating 80 years of India's Independence, a milestone that reflects resilience, unity, and progress.
Today's tournament is about more than competition. It is about creating opportunities, inspiring young people, and taking boxing closer to our communities.
As BoBA, we intend to make Mookane and the surrounding villages a hub of boxing. We hope today's event plants the seed for the establishment of a Mookane Boxing Club and, in time, sees Mookane Junior Secondary School recognised as a ReBA Bona Ha Center (RBBH), producing champions in a structured and progressive manner.
This area has a proud boxing heritage, having produced outstanding boxers such as Oteng Oteng, the Setlalekgosi twins, Tebo Gasiitsewe, and many others. We believe the next generation of champions can emerge from here if we continue investing in our young people.
I thank Jindal Power, our partners, the community of Mookane, our affiliates, coaches, officials, and everyone who made this tournament possible.
I wish all the boxers the very best. Compete with discipline, respect, and pride.
Our Boxing, Our Pride. P**a!
